This kid in my class made a nerf pen and he's going to bring me the plans for this inginius device.

How it works: When you press the back of the pen to use it the ejection piece cocks, and to fire it you apply pressure to the ball point.

The use of it: Pissing people off

The benifit: Laughter

The cost: About $50-$60 (because parts have to be specially orderd from china) and any injury or punishment you may recive from the pissed off person.

When it's comming out: When my friend can find the plans/remake them if they're lost.

$50-60 dollars for a freaking pen? I sure hope you're made of money. I'd settle for duct taping a SSPB to my Bic, thank you very much.

Well that's about what my friend payed though you could posibly find the stuff at a local harware store. I also always give the highest posible price, though it's more likley that you will find the things for $40. That or you could make a tiny hinge under a microscope.

Why does no one else see the fun in things like I do?

I understand the concerns but isn't modding supposed to be fun? Plus you could use the pen as a bragging right because it takes such skill to make.

No I'm not insane. I am though, very strange. AND I LIKE THAT.

One of the key factors of nerf, over PB or airsoft, is that its cheap.

Fun, yes. Economical? Not at all. its 39.99 for a Vulcan Value Pack, and anyways in the end, this should be in the homemade section.

You don't seem to be getting the points the other members have already posted.

1. COST: If we challenge ourselves to much cheaper and more effective ways then pen-blasters. I wouldn't spend 50-60 bucks on a nerf related item unless I truly planned on using it in a nerf war. Would you ever use this pen?

2. Alternatives: There are plenty of small/easily concealable guns which can be sprung upon someone

3. What the heck are you talking about: You weren't very specific. How do you propose we challenge ourselves if you don't post a write up or picture or anything useful?

This is a post merley letting people know that the nerf pen is comming soon. I know that it's exPENsive but it's still a neat thought. The pen was originally made because when my friend would have nerf wars with his friends, they always sign a treaty in the end. The pen alone though is a practical joke. For people with humor. Like I added in another post it could cost less depending on what your local hardware store carries as well as if you already have the parts. When I actually release the plans for the pen you can look for yourself and point out it's falts then. If i could make this a no response post I would. I'm merely trying to tell people that the designs for a small pen that does not look suspicious in any way is going to be released. Who knows, you could get $10,000 or even $100,000 on AFV if you capture a funny response with the pen. I know that uin13's snow camo integrated longshot sold for more than $100 and that thing isn't hard to make or paint. (Though I think the fact that it was made by uin13 sold it more than the gun.)

My god people just wait until the plans are actually released to judge it. You'll survuve 2 or 3 days without criticism right?

I haven't even seen the plans. Who knows, the parts needed might be commonly found in modding leftovers.

The main reason everyone flamed you is the price. It's fucking ridiculous.

Find a way to knock that down to $5, and you will get a much more positive response.

even having the stuff custom machined, unless it was made of 14K gold or something stupid like that, I have no idea why it would cost that much. Make a 3-D blueprint of it and have the parts mass produced. Then sell them as kits to all of is for the outrageous price of $10... I'd pay $10 for a pen that shoots a dart 20 feet... I know, I deal with having parts machined in China all the time through work, as long as you buy a lot, it's really cheap.

As soon as I read the first post, I was thinking of this thing. It's funny, because my little brother found it five minutes ago and brought it upstairs to show me. I haven't seen/used it in 3 years. I love it, but it doesn't fire micros. If anyone knows the name of it, PM me (so not to derail the thread). But yeah, I second what the others said, I wouldn't spend that much on any nerf gun.

EDIT: I just took another look at it, it does shoot micros. Again, I hadn't used it in over two years.

Sure you are. Take a look around you and all your friends. You're all the same.

Yes, it is supposed to be fun, however your "friend" is surely just robbing you. It does not cost $50-$60 to make something from tiny parts, not matter how "complex" they are.

That is unless its made with microchips. And has to do with combustion chambers.

Why don't you all calm down for a bit and realize that you've flamed this guy for far too many posts because your outraged at the cost of a pen? IF YOU DON'T CARE FOR THE PRICE, THEN SIMPLY DON'T PURCHASE ONE. Its his money, and if he feels the need to spend $60.00 on it, there is not a single person here who has the right to tell him otherwise.

Okay time for a rebutal. I know my friend isn't robbing me. I'm not even buying it, I'm just getting the plans. I have no clue what this contraption is exactly though with my ingunuity I think that i could make it AT LEAST lower that $20. By the way the reason the stuff costs so much is the shipping. I'm gonna make sure that if there's a way to make this thing cheaper, I'll know about it.

If this is all supposed to fit in a pen then why would shipping cost so much? Where is this guy located from where you live? You're still not convincing anyone, just in case you're wondering.

I think everyone went way overboard and jumped right to flaming, myself included. I'm sorry for that.

I don't really have an issue with threads about the potential guns have, but I don't think this one was done right. It was good of you to let us know about this new pen blaster, but you did two things wrong.

For one thing, it's a coming soon thread meaning that everything was left open to speculation, mass hysteria and eventually massive flamage. Thanks for letting us know it's coming, but to avoid these kinds of responses in the future, just wait until it is in your hands to post a topic about it.

Second, you were a little sparse on the details. We only had a vague description and a massive price tag to go by and naturally, everyone responded based on what we had. A picture or a more detailed description would've been nice. If you can't give that yet, it's probably too early to post a thread about this new pen blaster.

Fox is right, I apologize. I can understand about being excited about posting a mod you have, but really, good things (along with all-round better responses) come to those who wait.

shoot people and not have them find out.

I think this is a neat idea, and I totally understand how if you are interested in something, and have the money, you're gonna go for it. What I'm wondering is how it will conceal that it shoots nerf darts. Darts are much wider than most pens and would be hard to hide. Good luck anyhow.
