Why not just paint over it? It won't hurt the detail any.

Isn't that a sort of lubricant?WD40
If not and if this is a widely known fact then please forgive, i've never painted (or stripped the paint off) any guns before.

Paint thinner or acetone. With acetone however, make sure its just the shell your working on or any adhesives that come in contact with the acetone will start to come apart.Hey, I'm new to the site. I've stalked you guys since pre-vulcan launch and I like it here. I just wanted to ask if there was a way to strip the paint off of my recon without ruining the detail of it? I'll send pics when I get some time... Off to work! >.<

I'm beginning to get the feeling that this guy's gonna come back with a half-melted, but unusually well-lubricated gun.Lol I found some WD40 in my garage. That, and I just bought some paint thinner. When I put my Recon back together, It'll be hot. Wish me luck guys!
I'm guessing that it was already painted a color that would be hard to paint over (such as that awful orange that most Nerf guns have on them.)Why would you want to do that?
