Hey, I'm new to the site. I've stalked you guys since pre-vulcan launch and I like it here. I just wanted to ask if there was a way to strip the paint off of my recon without ruining the detail of it? I'll send pics when I get some time... Off to work! >.<

Why would you want to do that?
Why not just paint over it? It won't hurt the detail any.

Paint thinner.

No, that will melt the plastic along with the paint.

The little critters of nature, they don't know that they're ugly. That's very funny, a fly marrying a bumble bee. I told you I'd shoot, but you didn't believe me. Why didn't you believe me?

I've used it before and it worked.

WD40

Isn't that a sort of lubricant?
If not and if this is a widely known fact then please forgive, i've never painted (or stripped the paint off) any guns before.

Paint thinner or acetone. With acetone however, make sure its just the shell your working on or any adhesives that come in contact with the acetone will start to come apart.

I'm beginning to get the feeling that this guy's gonna come back with a half-melted, but unusually well-lubricated gun.

Why would you want to do that?
Why not just paint over it? It won't hurt the detail any.

I'm guessing that it was already painted a color that would be hard to paint over (such as that awful orange that most Nerf guns have on them.)

I'm actually really excited about these. These may be small but I think they will be very useful when I use my ninja skills.
