By releasing this tool, not only is he allowing internet criminals steal your stuff, he is allowing people to use the tool to come up with a fix. You can't fix something until you know how its broke.

Exactly thats why open source software is getting better and better. Everyone who knows what to do, is making it better, fixing it. Thats probably what will happen with the gmail hacker tool. Some security expert will get a hold of it and create a security measure to protect who ever DL's it. Thats called a white hat hacker.
