So how many springs (and what springs) do you feel comfortable with in your Longshot? Also, what ranges if you can give them.

You could use less springs or only one and just stretch the hell out of them.

Talk about the blind leading the blind. I don't usually advocate judging someone's expertise based on their post count, but here I might make an exception. Stretching a spring may give you a temporary increase in the force which is applied to the plunger, but the spring will quickly return to it's original state. On top of that, stretching the spring causes the spring to loose it's shape overall, which may result in the spring ending up weaker than it was before.

I would have posted the exact same if only I looked a little earlier. From what I've seen, Captain Slug prefers an ar-15 spring cut down to 4 3/4 inches, along with the longshot spring. That is what I'll be doing to my longshot once I can get ahold of that spring. There's a link to order it from an online store in the "Modifying a Longshot?" thread, I think. But beware, if you don't find a gun store around you that carries it, you'll end up paying twice as much for shipping the spring as the spring actually costs.Has no one read the recommendations for LS springs? First and foremost is the AR-15 Buffer spring. Available online or at most gun shops. And for good reason. When cut to the correct length, it works VERY well. Use the search people!
