Do you think a SM gun would work well instead of the BBBB? Seems like it's a little on the bulky side and I'd prefer a pump.

SM Gun? Sorry, having a brain fart on that one.

I'm going to replace the stock pump with a bicycle pump once I get the range issues worked out, it'll cut the size down quite a bit.

Supermaxx...sorry. Seems like a lot of people replace internals of guns with that of a Supermaxx gun.

Actually more often than not, it's AT2k or 3k internals as SM1.5Ks are not as plentiful.

Ahha, never seen a SM gun in my life, but I guess you could put an AT3K on it if you tried hard. BBBB is way easier though.

The internals of 2Ks and 3Ks are similar, just that the 3K has a larger pump. 2Ks are easier to find, a note if you're just ripping the guts out of them.

Here's the idea.

If I can, I will try and replace the AT2K or 3K internals like hereticorp has done, but with the AT2K or 3K internals. I think a new pump handle would make this a pretty nice gun. I am watching a lot of guns on ebay with a couple 3k's in it so thanks again for the help

Alright, new ranges with new darts.

The new darts helped, but I definitely need 6" barrels on this thing, I was getting wicked tail wagging on these shots. At least they went straight though.

Ranges, 10 Pumps, 20 Shots per Dart Type, Flat Shot, Rounded down to the nearest foot:

Double BB 2" Stefans:
68, 68, 67, 65, 62, 62, 60, 60, 57, 56, 55, 54, 53, 53, 53, 52, 50, 50, 46, 44

Average: 56.75'

1/4" Steel Slingshot Ball 2" Stefans:
75, 71, 69, 66, 66, 65, 65, 65, 65, 65, 64, 64, 63, 62, 62, 61, 58, 56, 56, 54

Average: 63.60'

So the 1/4" balls definitely improved the range quite a bit, I'm going to strip this thing down and put 6" barrels on it to see how much that helps, I'm also going to use liquid nails to secure and seal the barrels instead of hotglue, so that should help too.

I'll edit with a couple of pictures later.

Now that sounds about right. Defiantely something worth trying. If the AT2K or 3K doesn't work, than a BBBB or LBB should work nicely.

Sorry for my lack of knowledge but what is the difference between the LBB and BBBB? Ones by Lanard and the other is by Buzz Bee? Thanks for the ranges....the pics will be interesting

In this case, I don't think it much matters which I pick so whatever I can find or get in the same lot of guns will be good enough. Hopefully I can find another one because I reacted too late to the lot of guns with two AT2K's and a LBB along with it. Thanks again, and hopefully I'll have a writeup or some pictures of my guns so far so that'll be a goal for say, my 100th post? I need to shut up now...

From my experience, both had trigger issues, I needed to rebuild the LBB trigger within 50 shots out of the box, the BBBB needs to have a reinforced trigger if you plan on plugging the pump. The BBBB's valve dumps air MUCH faster than the LBB one, but it can get hard to pull at higher numbers of pumps, the LBB valve feels the same from 0-30 pumps.

Seems fair. The only problem I see I might run into is rigging the DTG trigger up to the BBBB trigger. I'd prefer the BBBB, but the LBB seems more common. I haven't been able to find a BBBB at a Target, TRU, or Wal mart. For someone whos had both, what are the size differenences? Are the vlves construction similair becasue I haven't seen LBB internals.

Edit: Like I said, whatever I can find will have to do. Ebay is my best bet

Well, you're lucky that Im in a helpful mood today, so here's some glorious comparison photos!

BBBB on top, LBB on bottom. Note: Mine aren't stock, the shells have been cut down, couplered, pumps plugged.

I can attest that the BBBB trigger is extremely difficult to pull at 12 pumps, and after that you need a wrench to get the thing to dump all at once instead of pissing out the air slowly till the pressure drops far enough.

The trigger mech I describe in the guide here works perfectly for about 10-11 pumps, and has issues with 12. I'll be adding a block to the trigger to correct this, but for now 10 pumps is about perfect.

As promised, pictures.

Welcome to the test range, today we will be testing a BuzzBee Big Blast integrated into a Nerf Dart Tag Blaster. We will be using two types of ammo, a double BB stefan and a 1/4" steel stefan.

Posted Image
If you look really closely you can see a dart landing in this picture.

Now look at THAT grouping, I like that kind of accuracy.

Wow, thanks a lot Aimless! Those will definately come in handy.

Hopefully I won't have too big of problems with the trigger but I guess that's where I have to figure things out. Thanks again, Alec

Edit: I just got both the LBB and BBBB (sadly I have to return the BBBB and get another)...the BBBB was defective. The 4 gun pack that is. I probably will try the BBBB and I'm still trying to find an AT2K.

I really like this, It seem to be very effective way to combine to totally different types of guns together to make one. The only question i have is that is the barrel auto rotate or do you have to turn after each shot? Nice mod

The rotation mech works fine, the DTB is still automatic.
