I think a few times we tried to have Zen-style nerf wars. Basically, we were bored and decided that you run around the shindig's backyard until you know you're out. It went over pretty well, except most of us are so used to the 3 hit pause style that we counted ourselves out at that point, without realizing we didnt have to.
Overall, if nothing else, we realized pretty much everyone is honest about their hits.

Other than that, we've tried VIP games, which end up with the VIP running straight to the exit, and since everyone has one or two shots, they almost always made it.

That game where everyone puts their name in a hat, then you draw a name, and thats the person you are supposed to kill, then you take the person their supposed to kill when you kill them, and so on and so forth. I forget what happened, but something ended up screwing us over everytime about mid-way through the game.

We have "duels"

If someone is dishonest/argumentative with a hit, we decide it with a 1 ammo each, 1 life duel. The winner, well, wins.

Uh sory Alex but I don't what your saying?
and another game I play is Asult the base you get a stop wacth see how long it takes for your team to get inside a base and do something EXP (push the of button)
and then the defending team try's to compleate the mission under the time the the first team did. Usally I play with 4 to 6 pepole but I think it would be really cool if 8 to 14 pepole would play at one time.

I got the idea from UT.

another game is scavange war you get some non player to hide guns and ammo you are only are allowed to start with a pistol of your choice this is much more fun if you make holster's and harneses for your guns so you can carry more and that's it for now.

Alright keep the laughing down to a minimum on this girls, but myself and my old nerf buddies in the unmodded days had a couple of very fun games that we would play. First off, we did do CTF. A little differently than most would assume though. First off, we had two sides and a border that seperated our playing feild into different area's.

The first difference between traditional CTF is that we used baseballs or footballs, usually three to a side. The purpose was to attain all six of the footballs at your primary base. Important to note that your "flags" did not have to be at your base, in fact we would normally hide them with the rule that it had to be visible from three of the sides, not including top and bottom, and had to be attainable (No throwing them up on the roof of my parents house). Next difference is that no team may fire on the enemies territory. Once the flag is on your side, in theory it is yours, but it is still up for grabs and therefore must be hidden. Once on your own territory, you may not hold the flag for more then 30 seconds (in other words, no carrying it around. Hide it, and move on.) Once the flag has been placed it may only be moved if no enemy can be spotted (if you see an enemy, no picking up the flag and running with it). Once a team has successfully located all flags, said team may move them to their base for the win.

Now this may sound tricky and hard, and truely doesn't work with more then 6 players in a large area with PLENTY of cover. We used to play in a large set of woods by my house with 3 to a team. It worked, but you had to be able to run. Hence I normally hunted opponents on my side, or would gaurd the hidden flags. Give it a try if you have the people.

Talio.

Well It's late/early and I'm bored so I happen to be browsing the forums in my somewhat hypnotic state. here's some games.

Nerfin' roullette: two-three players. Get a bucket box etc and fill it with guns. have some go behind a wall or somewhere unseen and load x-1 darts(where X is the number of players) into x-1 number of guns then then jumbe them up. you oughta know the rest from here, I'm too tired.

Armory: (played teams or brawl) Each player can hold, at any time, only one weapon. when hit you drop your wepon and run back to your armory (same as base, you keep the rest of your X amount of guns here) and grab a weapon if you choose. when a team runs out of weapons they are out. more fun with 3+ teams but keep gun supplies to a small amount.

Apache: same rules as regular CTF except your allowed to hide it where noone could see it even if they were right next to it.

By the way when you said UT did you mean me?

Okay Just checking. I think I posted something like that or siege wars on NHQ. Anyways I got another Game:

Got it from your UT:

That bomb style game. You need some kinda timer thing and put it on a pizza box or something that size(It's better to use something like a Tech-Target since it has preset times so it's less likely that someone cheats). The bomb starts off in the middle of the playing field (between everyone's bases) one shot kills, infinite number of lives (you must go to a designated point before your back alive, there can be more than one point if wanted/needed). The way a team is eliminated is that the bomb goes off in their base. be the last team standing and win.

The problem with all of our wars is that they end when we run out of ammo.

Therefore, our final war is always very fun. We end with an everyone has 1 dart and 1 gun war. We go to a soccer field or something and everyone starts at a corner or at midfield on the boundary. Then, when we begin everyone has to step inside the field and cannot leave until dead. If you kill someone, you have 15 seconds before you can be shot and you get their ammo. It is really fastpaced because half the people just charge when we start and the others just bid their time but it usually ends in about 2 minutes.

We also play a war which is kind of like manhunt. 1 person goes out, hides on their own and attempts to pick everyone else off. The hunted person should be insanely fast, good with dodges and carry whatever the fuck they want to carry.

One of the favorite games I've played with my friends is "collect the tokens". you divide the players into groups of 2 or 3 with one person staying out to run the game to keep track of time and which cards are handed out. The game has a set time limit like 20 minutes. Each person gets a cards and each card is worth one point, playing card work well. Which ever team returns with the most points wins. When you get shot you must lay down and wait to be looted by either your killer, your team mate or someone else. To loot someone you have to touch them and count to five at which point they give you one card if they have any. Once looted you can return to your starting place to come back into the game. You can not trade cards without being looted ie you can't just hand all your cards to your team mate.

There is an added twist to the game as well. Among the normal cards are the Poison card, and Antidote card. These cards are pulled out of the cards used, at random at the beginning of the game by the judge and written down so only he knows which cards they are. If you have the poison token at the end of the game none of your cards count to your teams total. If you have the Anitdote token you add an extra half of the number of points you, as an individual, have to your teams total. If you have both the Poison and Antidote token, double the number points you add to your teams total.

I don't know about you guys, but I think that is a very good idea.

I'm part of a scout troop, and sometimes on camping trips, I bring my nerf guns and we all play during our free time. Sometimes, not everyone can play, so we have the people that want to play but not enough guns go to a protected area where one team must defend. These people are the hostages. The other team tries to rescue the hostages by tagging them, and then the hostages follow them to a rescue zone without getting shot.

We also play Infiltrate, or Hold the deck, where one team must hold a porch area or a garage, and the other team must take over the deck/garage, or complete a certain objective. We played this on a camping trip with at scouts once, where one team held an arcade that had 5 games, and the attacking team had to unplug 2 arcade machines.

I'm also trying to find an area near my house that is suitable for King of the Hill.

I got one game i really like and it's kind of like cobbers game. Ok here it is.
First you gather up all the nerfers you can get. Get some masking tape and put a piece with their name on it on their guns so nobodies can get mixed up, because some people may have the same guns but may want theirs back because they've modded it or something (you'll see the purpose of this in a minute). Ok now you'll also need some streamer or something like that. Give everyone five pieces that they tie around a belt loop or something. Now send everyone out with 20 seconds of no shooting so everyone can get seperated. Once everyone is seperated someone calls out something like GO or something and the war begins. If you hit someone they have to give you their streamer or ribbon or whatever. Once they've lost all their streamers they turn their gun (or guns) into the gun collector. Then the "living" players can come over and buy the guns for a certain amount of streamers (pricing goes by amount of darts able to fire i. e. for a gun that fires 5 darts or less it's a streamer for ten two streamer etc.) basically once your out their's no getting back in until the next game but hey you had five chances. Or you can play it that the dead have to become the gun collectors. Anyways this is your basic survival of the fittest game. Whoever is the last man standing is the winner. However there are some cheats that people use. like tearing one streamer in half to make it look like two. you'll just have to trust your friends.

Here's a thought:
Two teams, one flag. The flag starts in the middle, and both teams try to get it. The game ends after however much time (I'm thinking about 20-30 minutes) and the team with the flag on their side at the end wins.
