I modded my SMDTG and cut the tubing on one of them. I noticed there were springs inside the tubes. Also, there are some in a few of the tubes of the Hornet.

Is there any purpose to these springs? I've never seen anyone mention them.
Also, to connect the tubing, can you find 'couplers' at Ace and such?

The springs exist to keep the hose from bending and kinking, thus blocking the air.

Also, you can find connectors like that at almost any large hardware store.

Yes, couplers can be bought at ACE, PVC and CPVC. About the tubing, I have never opened up a SMDTG or a hornet so I wouldn't know. However, there are springs that hold air restrictors up. How big are the springs?
EDIT- saxynerfer beat me to it.

On my first smdtg I pulled out the springs and it would not hold air. But I think it was somthing I did wrong.
And yes you can buy cupplers at ace, lowes, homedepo.

'Cupplers'...ok....

Anyway, they are called tubing connectors and I find all of mine at Home Depot in the irrigation section. I use 1/4 OD. I'm not sure about the springs inside of the tubing but I think saxynerfer is right about them. Also, I wouldn't bother with them unless you want to extend the tubing.

Alright, thanks all.

Yeah, Chilipepper, what you mentioned was what I was inquiring about when I referred to 'couplers.'

Myself I use barb fittings from sprinkler drip systems. they hold well by themselves but I will also lay some epoxy over to give it extra strength.

Forgive my spelling and grammar. I post from my cell phone a lot. Sometimes when I'm on the can at work.
