I was looking for some mattel blasters when I came upon 2 very VERY unique "blasters": the Johnny Seven OMA and Sonic Blaster.

Here's a link for the Johnny seven:

And Here Too
Here's another snipit
Aparently the bazooka fired a compressed ball of air at a noise level of 157dB!!!(Think of the stefan ranges!!!)

Here's a couple of videos of the Johnny Seven OMA (One Man Army) that were on YouTube:

Johnny Seven OMA demonstration 2
Johnny Seven OMA display and history

Very nice find, but I may have to call out a hit on you if you ever got your hands on the Zero M and tried to mod it. It's vintage man!!! Besides, the commercial you posted doesn't really show how far away he is from the targets.

I guess I should have gone after that zero m when I saw one with a buy it now of 100... At that price I would have modded it.

My father had one ons those Sonic Blasters when he was a kid. He used wait for a car to drive by and then he'd hit their hubcaps so it sounded like they had hit something.

That looks really cool. I had seen one of these on ebay at one point about a year ago, when I was trying to find old nerf guns (crossbow  ) I kept my eye on it, and it ended up going for about 210$. I had no idea what it was at the time, so I paid no attention to it. But 157 decibels is extremely loud.

It's not like that. I put lube on it and its the same. Its just stuck. And when I cock it back it goes farther back then usual. Also I push as hard as I can and it wont go back in. I've tried the methods and they wont work. Also pics are up.

Haha, I laughed quite hard at that. It sounds like something my dad and I would have done. That still sounds like fun.

Why do you have so many rare guns? Are you a collector?

Well, those are cool vintage toy guns and all, but seeing as they're extremely old and collector's items, we have no use for them here.

Vintage guns are like hookers, I would buy them, but only if they were willing to go for less than 100 dollars. Frankly, however, that does not happen.

It's funny, I have somewhat of a modern equivalent to the sonic blaster. It's the airzooka mega-something or other...but it has a plastic bag-like sheet inside of a large plastic barrel, with a handle at the center of the plastic sheet. That faces you, and on the other side of the sheet, there are bungees attached to the handle, which go to the front of the gun and are attached at the end of the barrel. You pull back the handle and it hooks onto a thing, then you pull the trigger to fire. I doesn't blow out eardrums, but it fires a puff of air about 20-25 feet.

EDIT: You know, looking at the sonic blaster made me realize why it's so dangerous to the user. The airtank is right next to the person's ear! Just look at the internal picture, if you put that on you shoulder, the tank's going to be right by your head. Maybe it'd be safer if you fired it scarface-style.

Does anyone else think the johnny 7 gun looks like a crossbow in the faintest way? (At least it does from the outside.)

Bazooka-It's only dangerous when aimed at ears, the blast wave is concentrated down the barrel and is not any worse if you use the scope with the body next to your ears.I didn't see potential as being modified to fire projectiles-The air blast was more of a "puff" from the sound of the heavy gasket unsealing....sort of like a weak pop bottle bomb or an extreme lip fart.

J7OMA- Great fun,but not very useful over 20 feet-it's basically a spring dart gun.

Oi, I have two Jonny sevens, one complete, one only partially so. Fun guns but no real mod potential and considering what it costs to get your hands on one it'd be really a shame to mess one up. Besides, they're pretty much impossible to take apart and what with the brittleness of that old plastic using one in a war would mean certain destruction. Although now I wanna try making a nerf version...

And as everyone knows, money makes the world go round. It's also the root of all evil, therefore the world going round is evil, and we should stop the rotation of the planet.
