Umm not really. Darts can't bounce around in 1/2" cpvc. Well at least any darts that get used (Micros, Sometimes megas).

Unless you meant 1/2" PVC. Then I'm sorry.

If you want a singled longshot, go for telescoping brass. It will have the best effect on it, and be easiest to glue.

Actually I think he meant the original barrel, extention, but it does bounce around in there. The brass barrel sounds interesting...must go search.

Edit: isn't this usually used for air guns though?

I used it for both. 17/32" worked great with stefans in a real war. The PETG was just too loose. I tried just 1/2" PVC for stefans, but they fell out when I ran.

On my old BBB, the telescoping barrel was very nice. I got at least 80 feet with it, but I find that it was more accurate with CPVC.

From what I've used, Brass would be your best bet, but most expensive. If sputnik's darts don't fit in CPVC thats fine, its his choice, and I hope it works for him.

Thanks keef.
Right now, I don't have any CPVC, but pending a trip Casa Depot, I'll get some tomorrow.
I know that 9/16 brass fits my stefans very well, but CPVC might work too.

If 9/16 fits, I garuntee that CPVC is too tight.

Before you go singling a good LS, why don't you consider the angel breech? If done properly it will have near the range of a singled LS (baring any leaks). Also you don't need the dart tooth, which solves you problem with that.

Also my LS has a BBB spring (no LS spring). The BBB spring works well, and it is not hard to cock the gun.

It is also angel breached.

The angel breech also is complicated to make and costs about as much as another LS.

I agree there. you need 4 pieces of brass, right there about $20. However I think it only requires less than 6 inches of the three sizes to you might be able to make a second... It is up to you entirely.

Before you go singling a good LS

1) Its not working.
2) i already have a perfectly good, 60'+, cilpped ls
3) i want a one shot, long distance weapon.

It's up to you really.. I only posted that because you asked before as to if the loss of ROF was worth it.

If you are set on a singled LS, consider the fact that the is still primed via the sled, which is the weakest part, and you should reinforce this. Besides this fact the LS is an Ok canidate to make a long range weapon, as it is able to hold 2 springs. A combo of LS spring around an ACE spring would be cool. However you might have to work out something becaus the ACE spring is a bit short. Maybe the addition of a part of a second acespring might work as this spring holds on to the plunger shaft.

Yeah, cut it. I didn't have a Dremel on my first LS and snapped it in half, but it was sharp enough to stab someone with. I had to do a lot of smoothing with an exacto knife and sandpaper to get it perfectly flat. The next one I cut with my new Dremel and it was clean, I could put piping into it easily and the AR was gone with the rest.

So, cut it for sure and CPVC it from that peice.

I've said it before, and I'll say it again. A good nerf gun is like a good woman. It shouldn't require extra lubrication.

I just got the CPVC.
Does anybody have FBR that fits it?
Mine is barely too big.

Good call Qui'lan Fett.

I know that my local hardware store sells some thin FBR that fits perfectly into CPVC. If you need any, PM me and I'll se if i can swing something.

I have a recon and this problem happened to me, I think. It is caused by the dart going over the dart tooth instead of being pushed into the bolt. I opened it up and discovered that the spring was not on its' platform, so I just adjusted it and now it works fine. With the longshot though, you may just want to reiforce the spring, and make sure it is in the correct position. Just try this before you do something that might ruin your gun.

hi, did you check to see if you have correctly placed back the dart stopper infront of the chamber. if that wasn't placed back correctly the dart does not get pushed back all the way and shorten the range consideralbly. Check if its going up and down smoothly.
