There is the nite-mav, but what about the Nite-con? I was getting insanely frustrated with the Recon today, and I just said, "Screw it. I give up". So I thought about an integration. 2k? 3k? Nah. But then I though of my Nf's. One did'nt turn out the way I had hoped, so I thought I should integrate it into my recon. I am going to make something like Cs's stumpy, but with NF internals. The NF plunger tube fits almost perfectly where the Recon plunger went. I am almost there, I have found a means of the Trigger, and most placement, but I am stuck on how to make the catch work. Any ideas? I'll upload a pic in a minute. I will edit this post with the final prduct later tonight, or maybe tomorrow.

What about flipping the firing chamber and catch upside down? That might make the catch work in the Recon, but it looks like you might have to machine something to link the catch to the trigger considering the space between.

I'm new at modding but can't he just make stefans and mod the clip so it would work as such?

What about flipping the firing chamber and catch upside down? That might make the catch work in the Recon, but it looks like you might have to machine something to link the catch to the trigger considering the space between.

I have made something that I glued onto the trigger to push up on the NF catch, so it will make it fire, but flipping the Chamber upside down will not do anything, and the catch, well, it would'nt really catch on anything. I am just avoiding having to relocate the NF internals completely.

And Crimmy, Galalxy, The reasons for which I am doing this is because one, the Recon sucks!, I was frustrated with it, and almost singled it, and nobody has done this before.

That's seems likely. The magazine is useless without some means of only advancing 1 round at a time. I could maybe see something working with the leading end of the bolt being used, but not likely.

For a catch release, I have an idea. Extend the NF catch with a bit of an L shape. Have it reach the sloped part of the trigger that we can see in the picture. When you pull the trigger back, the sloped part would (in theory) lift the bracket and release slightly. Should be enough to free the plunger and allow the thing to fire. I can try to draw something up for you if you want. Or you may know better and my idea may be worthless.

Props on the new idea. I like to see if this thing ends up functional or not.

I'm gonna scrap it and make a stumpy. I still have all the parts for the original recon, but I just don't have the right tools to make the Nite-Con. I don't even have access to a drill or a dremel. Plus, I kind of hate the recon, and I still want the stock on there, so the Nite-Con would be kind of awkward and fugly. I hope someone else might be able to do it though!

I would do it, but I'd rather have the Recon's breech even if the ranges suck.

Since you dremeled most of the shell, I'll take it if you don't want it.

No, I said I don't have access to a dremel. The shell itself is fine, I am going to make a stumpy like thing. I only like the recon because its a handgun with a stock! But I do have a few other shells. AT2k, 3k, and a Magstrike shell if you want em.

My Recon died. Sorry guys. Hopefully someone else will do this. I had to let my little brother help out with it, cause he went whining to my mom that he wanted to help and I was being a jerk (put the needle on the record), and he decided he wanted to melt the trigger with the hot glue gun while I was in eating. He killed it. Sorry.
EDIT: He is almost 9, and likes nerf, so he wants to "help" mod my guns. He has lost me about 60$ in the past month. He killed a maverick, (not that sad), one of my Magstrikes, and now my recon.
I really don't want to mess with it much anymore. I'm just gonna put the spring in my BBB.

I have no experience in dealing with younger siblings seeing as I have none, but tell your parents that he breaks your stuff and costs you money, so he can't help you with mods. Maybe you should teach him, and let him screw up his own guns by himself.

...Anyway, good idea, though it looked like the clip wouldn't have fit.

There are SO many reasons I like being an only child.

But honestly, if he screws up that much stuff, he shouldn't be allowed to screw up any more. Let him buy his own guns and screw them up. If your parents are letting him just to shut him up, then something's off (no offence, really).

Sorry about that, though. Maybe you should buy a huge safe and put all your stuff in there.

Couldn't you just replace the trigger using scraps from other guns? Or is the trigger actually melted into the gun? Either way anything is fixable.

Haha, yea that's pretty much what I did, messed it up and just put the spring in my BBB.

For the actual Nite-Con, how would the nitefinder's plunger tube stay in place? There isn't a screw spot for it. I was looking at the internals for both earlier and it is totally possible if you could get the plunger tube to stay in place. You would just add that where the recon's tube was and stick some cpvc in it, hot glue it to the nitefinders tube and viola! That spring would also be a nice addition to any gun...


Ps: What if you made a breech system like b00m13 did on the cpvc so it is still "clippable." That would be sweet!

Solution to little brother number A:Buy him a nitefinder and some cpvc, tell him he can use your dremel and glueguns etc. if he asks first and brings you with him, but only if you are able to leave what you are doing now to supervise him, tell him he MUST wear gloves and safety glasses/goggles if he uses anything, tell him if he ever uses a tool without permission/glove/glasses, he is not allowed to use the tools anymore, like, EVAR.
When he ruins the nitefinder, tell him if he wants another gun ask what gun he wants, tell him how much it costs,
then tell him how much the guns he has broken cost in total.

When dealing with younger siblings, don't yell, put them through what they put you through, (unless they cut part of you off.) when they learn what it takes to make something, they will hopefully treat it with respect.
