[Blasphemy]

My wife and I got a high of 48. She just graduated (today) with a degree in English, and I...well let's just say that I've had a book published ("In Their Own Tongue" a book on intermediate Korean grammar for English speakers emphasizing common misconceptions with syntax and usage).

AH HA! That's why you picked that username, I had been wondering about it for a while now. The most I donated was 10,100 grains over a span of 45-60 minutes. I guess it may be the only thing for a rusty spelling bee champion like me to use for procrastination.

No, I realized it was a stupid question. I read it wrong. At first I thought it was the sixty-fourth note, as in the sixty-fourth note in a song, but then I realized the actual meaning. Me, I can't play anything past a thirty-second note.

1/64th note is no big deal...unless there a several consecutive 1/64th notes with very different fingerings/positions.
Speed isn't all that difficult (assuming you're not sight reading), adding style and flair takes much more talent.

I just got 900 grains with a score of around 36, and this is very addicting. It turns out, most of our english vocab words are on this quiz.

Indeed. But I still maintain that extreme speed is more easily attainable (with practice) than style. Anybody (okay not anybody) can dedicate a large amount of time to playing one song (for example, I can play "The Entertainer" on the trumpet extremely quickly simpley because I memorized it when I was a little kid).

This isn't a charity-only site.

It's a game with an incentive to donate rice to starving children. I like how it implies that children will be fed by playing a game. Geeze, 100 lbs. of donated rice will feed dozens of children anyway. I guess it's the thought that counts.


If you really want to help feed starving people, go down to your local soup kitchen and volunteer 2-3 hours a weekend. Now THAT's really helping out starving people. Playing a game can hardly be construed as "helping".

Playing notes properly is objective. Playing style properly is not. Apples and oranges.

Also, counterexample: I'm currently trying out one of Vivaldi's concertos for recorder. I play several instruments, some for over ten years. I've seen, heard, and played enough Vivaldi that playing in an appropriate style is not difficult. But since I've only been playing recorder for a couple of months, the fast notes are most definitely the limiting factor.

My favorite word is floccinaucinihilipilification. Meaning to estimate as valueless or useless. Fun word. Also, I think the game is a great idea. The fact is it gives to tzedakah (fancy word for charity) and that is important to me. I give it 2 thumbs up .

Uhh...tzedakah is Hebrew for charity. Charity is very important for me too, but I do not believe that the organizers sit in a warehouse and wait as the questions are answered online. I think this a good way to help us (Americans/online persons) build our vocabulary skills and 'feel good' about ourselves.
