*****SPOILER******

The movie really disapointed me. They didnt settle anything like in the last one. The whole movie was hard to get in to. It was the exact opposite of the other movies. This one had one huge fight scene and that was it. I agree with SS, they have to end this movie. I mean come on! You cant end a movie with a peace with teh machines!!!!!

Ohh and NEO did not die, he practically cant die. Hes the one.

I still dont think trinity should have died either, that added nothing to the movie.

Heres what they did not solve or explain:
The french guy
How the oracle came back
Neos powers
How all those people lived (they said everyone died in thelast one)
Tons of other stuff

THey have to make a sequel, because they ruined they whole trilogy with this movie.

All in all the most disapointing movie i have ever seen.

.The french guy is just another program out to gain more power in the world.

Those people in Zion lived because they weren't involved in the defense of Zion. The people that died were the people that went out in the ships to attack the army of machines. The Smith that got inside Zion, you know, the guy who blinds Neo? Well that guy let off an EMP, disabling every ship around the ship he was in, therefore letting all the sentinels kill everyone. They didn't kill him because they saw that he was a machine, a part of the Matrix. They either didn't recognize him or didn't see he existed.

I don't know... I was kinda let down. I think the death of Trinity was necessary. It shows that she loved Neo so much that she would die to be with him until the end. I mean sure, I think that kills the chance of there ever being another Matrix movie because face it, we can't have a Matrix movie without Carrie-Anne Moss and her sexy bod.

There was one religious reference I saw. And that was when the Smiths were dying and Neo had the light coming out of him and everything... when they showed the yellow screen, showing the energy, Neo was in a crucified position. Legs straight, arms outstretched... the whole nine yards. Neo is the messiah for the human race in that movie and it also shows that he would die to help the human race.

if you ever see any of the three movies again, watch them with a keen eye out for christian references. you'll be surprised to find that just about everything makes some reference to the Bible.

i'm yet to see revolutions. reading you guy's spoilers, i'm very interested in this whole "blinding neo" thing. it sounds way too much like Dune Messiah, from what i've gathered he can only sense the robots? anyways, if someone's read dune messiah and seen revolutions, or seen the Sci-fi channel's "children of dune" mini-series and revolutions, i'd like a short examination of the similarities between neo and paul's blindness.

So what if Neo is the one, remember in Reloaded, when he goes into the chamber with the Creator, and he say there is a cycle of One's that die, are reborn into other minds, lather, rinse repeat. He said it was part of the balence in the matrix.

a couple things....

Yes their are a ton of Biblical references. Matter of fact, in Revolutions, the symbolism is so thick you could cut it with a knife.

The blind man who can see has been a hero and anti-hero since the early days. Oedipus and Tiresias come to mind, not to mention Homer who we credit with the Illiad and the Odyessy.

Lastly, Trinity DID have to die. I feel as though the loss of someone you love gives you the strength to do almost anything, especially if you are there for their last moments. I'm sure there are some DBZ fans. Look at Goku; he only had the power to reach Super Saiyan after Krillin was killed by Freeza right in front of him.

I think thats it, i will post more if i think of anything

What the fuck do the Wackowski brother's have against the movie going public? Did a Critic sleep with one of their girlfriends or something? That movie was flat out horrid. I thought I was going to have to buy the second one eventually just to have the set, but now I reallize that I'd rather just remember the first one and pretend they didn't try to tack on a trilogy. I mean, I guess they figured since their title rhymed with resolutions they felt they didn't fucking need any!

You're behind on your ridlin.

It's "ritalin"... yeah, I stolemy friend's bottle. That shit is crazy stuff, my friend took some and he went all weird... I know what the drug does, but yeah, it was till freaky when he didn't listen to us.

Sorry about... just something I thought I'd point out.

Hrm, I should know things like that...

I recall my friend telling me once when he was in college he decided with one roommate that their apartment was a total pig sty. They took the guy's old ritalin prescription and slipped two to their other roomie and went out.. When they got back half the apartment furniture was in the hallway and the guy was inside going nuts cleaning the place...

Oh my god, that sounds really funny, yet disturbing. Yeah... ritalin isn't to be taken be people without ADD or ADHD. My friend took 3 pills... he didn't get back to normal for at least 2 days. I didn't know it could make you have such a passion for cleaning however...

Anyways, back to the Matrix.

I see you all talking about religious stuff, and I myself am a "turned" atheist. I am still legally or what ever, a Roman Catholic... but I never knew anything about my religion, other than the basic facts and teachings. So, to my point, what are you all talking about? Are you saying that everyone in that movie has a biblical counterpart, in a manner of speaking? Anyways, I'd appriciate an explaination, since I am very clueless as to what you are discussing... but it seems very interesting.

I think that this movie was as good as the first. But it leaves too many of your questions unaswered. I'd like to see a forth film to clear up all the riff-raff.

*****Spoilers*****

The movie sucked. The three main protagonists (Neo, Trinity, Morpheus) had almost no screen time and no character development in this film. As a trilogy the whole thing was a cluster fuck. They kill off or fire all the supporting cast from the first film, then quickly introduce one dimenionsal characters in the second film to then have to spend most of the third film fleshing those characters out at the expense of main character development.

It fucking sucked, like Vacc I will no longer recognize The Matrix as a trilogy, it was one movie in '99 that was fuckin awesome. There were no sequels.

Don't you get the point of a "trilogy"? There can't be a fourth movie. And so, in turn, the third Matrix movie... Revolutions... Sucked.

Well I usually get pissed off at spoilers, but in this case, I'm pretty glad my curiousity got the better of me.

I hated Reloaded with a fucking passion. It was like a two hour seizer. With that in mind, I have no idea what questions needed answered except for why in gods name are people still going.

Thanks guys for saving me nine bucks.

Don't you get the point of Hollywood? Bam! Fourth movie! Then its just a quadrilogy or whatever... They set out to make a trilogy, that doesn't neccisarily mean they won't make another, besides thats just hundreds of more millions of dollars for them. Hell, I'll even go out on a limb and say it's likely that they do make a fourth.

Look at star wars. I bet noone thought they would make new movies. Yet hollowood and the public wanted another one so they made 3 prequels.

IF they made another one everyone would see it. They would really have to do some major writing to make a sequel. But if they do it right they can make it huge.

Only time will tell....

It's doubtful they'll make another sequil because I was waching some TV special saying that the first was birth, 2nd life,& 3rd was about death. Though it'd be cool if they made a prequil about Morpheous being brought out and all that.

You do realize that the first 3 Star Wars movies were titled
Episode IV: A New Hope
Episode V: The Empire Striked Back
Episode VI: Return of the Jedi.

Lucas always intended there to be more movies, he was just too busy counting his money and building Cybernetic monkeys to protect his gold-laden tomb to be bothered making them. Also, if he lives long enough and should his all-consuming thirst for wealth be re-awakened he'll probably make 7, 8, and 9.

So no, there will not be a 4th Matrix. If only because Revolutions is getting such horrible reviews, not to mention the fact that getting these two movies made was a constant struggle between the Wachowski's and Warner Bros.

If he tries that, he crosses over into the horrible world of "fan-fic," and will probably "get it wrong," turning away what few ravenous dogs eat the spit he's been putting out.

I hope they just give up on the Matrix, letting Revolutions and Reloaded fade into a happily forgotten past.

Though I did enjoy Revolutions on a sleepy, half-brained level, in retrospect it reminded me too much of Dragon Ball Z (where the hell were the energy beams, anyways? I wanted to see spirit bombs!), crappy ship deck-based sci-fi like Andromeda, and a Zerg rush. I never really cared about Zion in the first place (Their music sucks), so I was a bit disappointed (unreasonably, I know) by it being the central focus.

Onto the actual movie discussion...

Trinity had to die because she had already died anyways. Just like Neo, she was a ghost in the real world... She had her second chance, what point was there to have a third? I believe they killed of Neo, because.. Well, what kind of doppleganger is Smith if he can't nullify? Neo didn't do the divey thing because it didn't kill Smith in the first place anyways. That human had Smith's code because of his ability to rewrite memory registers with copies of his own code. Neo willingly became Smith because the machines needed Smith's code to parse him from the sysetm. The Matrix still exists because.. Well, I don't believe that the crop was part of the deal. Which means the Humans are going to instigate the whole war again, because their hearts bleed ignorance.

Christian imagery has been there throughout... I mean, "The One?" "Zion?" "Trinity?" Don't make me beat you with the teachings of the Roman Catholic Church (They have rights to just about every symbol out there... Except for maybe the Swastika ;)). Just about everything has Christian imagery in it, solely for the fact that the religion has spread across so many countries. Apparently that bible is a good read.

I thought Timothy Zahn's episodes 7, 8, and 9 were more considered "official" and had LucasFilm's blessings..
Am I wrong?
Hope not.. Lucas couldn't make a better movie than those books tell... And considering the way things are going, if he tried he'd probably screw up the existing story as well.
Oh, and everybody is OLD now, too, let's not forget.

Okay. I don't think Revolutions was that bad. It tied up a lot of loose ends from Reloaded, and was very entertaining. It still wasn't as good as the original, but sure beat the shit out of Reloaded. I liked it.

Now then, although they did explain a lot, they shove a whole new list of plot holes for us to deal with. Great. Help me out here?

Okay. First off, Neo is dead. If you can recall, the Oracle said that Smith was Neo's "exact opposite" that was balancing the equation. Therefore, the only way to kill Smith was to kill Neo, which is why Neo let Smith kill him. It was either none or both. Got it? Good.

Now, here's my list of unanswered questions.
  • What/who is the frenchman and the trainman?
  • Just because the war is "over", the machines are still using the humans as "batteries", which is the whole reason the war was started in the first place. Huh?
  • What was that whole conversation with the Oracle and the Architect at the end?
  • Why was the Oracle lying on the ground after Smith was destroyed?
  • How did Neo use his "powers" in the real world?
  • At the end, a cat walked over to the Indian girl, and the code was "repaired". What's up with that?
  • Why does the Oracle look different?
  • What is the Architect? Is he a program? If so, who created him?
Can anybody help me out?

*****END SPOILERS*****

The reason the Oracle looks different truthfully is because the previous actress that played her died, but they never really explain that.

And, can somebody explain to me why there were hundreds of Neo's on the screen in Reloaded? How is he the "sixth" one?

Ugh, I have a headache just typing this. :P

I saw it the day it came out and it was not that great. As to a fourth movie, they want to make one and Keanu Reeves has already signed on and it is expected to come out in like 4 years. My main problem with the movie was with it's lack of answering questions. After reloaded I thought they were simply building suspense and were going to reveal it all in the 3rd one but instead they just arouse more questions. I thought that they should have had more extensions on the whole trainman. That was a cool idea but they just ended it way too quickly. For biblical references, the whole trilogy is full of them. Even all of the names are biblical references as well as the characters. In the 4th movie I think that it is pretty obvious that they're simply going to try to wrap up the trilogy and leave the viewer with soe sense of resolve, like they should have done in revolutions.

  • What is the Architect? Is he a program? If so, who created him?
Can anybody help me out?

Spoilers, blah blah blah, it's for your own damn good

1. The Frenchmen (Marovingian) was an independant program that the wachowski's threw in because they thought he could give cool speaches that would SEEM as if the gave you insight, but I think he was supposed to show you that he was wrong and nothing in that fucking film had ANY purpose. They tried to push this image of a network of completely egotistical (in that they serve only themselves) programs that all "served a purpose" in the second film. Of course this fell through as we find out the network consits of the merovingian and...the merovingian's bitches. Just another point of failure and abandonment of thematic assertions as soon as they couldn't think of any more one liners...fuckers...the trainman was an idea they thought was cool and did absolutely nothing except introduce the indian girl who didn't make any sense in the larger picture anyway...
2. The machines never said they'd release the humans, only stop the war. This is one of the signs that the Wachowski's had the humans bit off more than they, or their hapless writer/directors could handle, it doesn't make any kind of satisfying sense with the first movie (you're right there), but that's likely because the wachowskis wrote a trilogy that not only doesn't mesh at all, but seems as if they were threatened to do it by gun point.
3. The conversation at the end was their idea of resolution. End with a heart-felt conversation by the machines and fuck our protagonists, we were all bored of them anyway...right?
4. The Uber smith was the oracle. Obsorbiing the oracle namek style was the super contrived way they had for making a smith powerful enough to give us an end fight scene.
5. No Clue. He was connected to the "source" which is absolutely baseless and retarded...no idea
6. It was a segway, you were watching a movie, deal.
7. The hundreds of neos were just his emotions, his inner conflicts. He's not the sixth neo, he's the 6th one. The 6th being with poweres to reform (MY ASS!) the matrix as he sees fit. Of course his oneness apparantly meant jack shit and he never reformed a damn thing.

Deal with it, the movie was a piece of shit that never should have seen the light of day, and it only highlights the difficiencies in the second film. What in the hell did it resolve from reloaded?
