Checking in.

If they don't deign to respond, I know Sam and Elf Avec Gun for sure; Janga and Cartoon have a bit of a drive but they've made a few, and Carbon and Ryan0103...6...8...something are in Chicago, but they drove up once.
As for the newer ones, I didn't mean to leave you out, I just don't know about you.

As long as everybody's attention is focused, why don't we throw around dates for a spring break war? It doesn't have to be your spring break, because many are probably gone anyways, but sometime late March/early April. Pretty much anything works for me.

Nerfer right here. Probably won't attend any wars until spring and I don't think there will be any until spring anyway. My spring break is March 21-28. If the war is on a Saturday, Sunday, or Friday night it doesn't really matter if it is during my spring break or not.

The 22nd is no good for me. I could possibly do the weekend before, but I have no idea what is happening for my spring break.

Sergeant Garret Rombal, reporting as ordered. South Saint Paul is bloody cold right now...there are some trainyards near the river i usually play airsoft at and plenty of parks and other wonderful venues to play at around here, so i nominate south saint paul for the battle ground.

Okay, it seems like there's plenty of interest... I'll get a thread started soon. Keep posting here in the meantime.

Dates: Since same can't make the 22nd, does the 15th work for everyone? Remember, it doesn't have to be your spring break, it just has to be around spring break. If it was on spring break, many people would be on vacation anyways. Speaking of which, I should probably figure when mine is... last week of March. So not many from my clan will be gone. The last few weeks we have Friday off, though, so no telling who will take advantage of the three-day weekend.

As for location -- I like messiah's places, though they are a little far away.
Messiah, can you confirm there's usually not much going on there? I can't imagine what kind of trouble we'd get in if someone thought we were hijacking trains.
Who's willing to drive to S. St. Paul?

Otherwise, the Disc Golf course has never failed us, or we could try Acorn Park.
Thoughts?

I have also got a few new locations that I have discovered via my Schploofton Climbing adventures. There are a few good areas near the Mississippi river and one at a location call The Brick Yards.

I've played different ways, but what, if any, rules should we put down about homemades?

Pretty much any blaster can be banned. You can bring it, but there is a possibility it can be banned. I'd say if it's a spring homemade it should be okay, but an air powered blaster might be banned.

well, really I can make it to pretty much anywhere withing walking distance, or bus distance...
and I was actually referring to the mississippi riverside industrial complex and nearby woods that are PERFECT. the trainyards themselves are gaurded by dogs that like to bite things, which I found out the hard way.

yeah, but the riverside structures and nearby woods are wonderful, proven battlefields.

hell, if someone brings a canoe or hunting boat, we could do a Normandy scenario...

There could be some good stuff along the river. I'm fine with south st. paul, and for me I can check if a bus goes there. Are you guys opposed to playing in the woods or should we do a more urban setting?

Sorry, canoe, huh? It's doubtful, but there is a possability I could get mine. It would just be cumbersome to deal with and I'm not sure what kind of license we would need. I think mine is up to date but I'm not sure.

I'm not opposed to the woods; actually, I think I'd rather enjoy that, but the option for an urban setting as well might be nice.

So, messiah, if I could at the least have an address, I'll google satellite it and get a thread started.
That is, if nobody objects to driving to So St Paul.

I'm not opposed to it. I mean, how long does it take to drive from St. Paul to South St. Paul. Just to clarify, do you mean South St. Paul or the Southern part of St. Paul?

google in maps: Verderosa Ave. immediatly east of it is where we could play for an urban setting, otherwise, go south to the woods.

i'll post pics when i have them.

Hmmm... okay, those both look like decent locations. It looks quite a walk from the parking lot to the woods, which I don't like, but whatever.

I am very worried, however, about that trail. If it's the trail I think it is, then it's popular, and I don't want people to think we're stalking them in the woods.

no, the trail is dead this time of year, except for young whipper-snappers fornicating in public...

Haha, well right, but remember we're doing it over spring break, about 2 months from now. It should be at least warm enough for a brisk afternoon walk, ya?

I'd say we stick with the tried an true Frolf course picnic area. There are at least 2 or three other areas withing 5 minutes of the frolf course if we want the change. I'll try to find some google maps pictures of the other areas.
New Locations:
The Brickyards: search 778 Cherokee Heights Blvd.

Looks nice, plenty of parking, and if the park is too busy we can go into the woods...

I'd really like to have someone besides me and the people proposing analyzing these places, though. : oD
