[Famine]

I think alot of people here seem to get all up in a bunch when Vacc, myself, Death, or Spoon (rarely) go on rants about how the LCM aren't vets and no one remembers the elders... etc, etc. I'm sure most of you can't understand why this is source of such great frustration for us.

Let's put it this way... and see if it adds perspective; most of you consider the people who have been around on Nerfonline to be vets, Nerfonline was created by Hal. I was a part of the NIC when Hal was a NEWB... he was the butt of all jokes, he's been muted, banned, and completely bitched by most of us on more occassions than can be recounted. On top of that, Vacc and Spoon were already established members of the NIC when I was just a newb to it... making them even older (in online sense.... at that point we'd all been nerfing for the same amount of time).

And the fact that most of you aren't even aware of who was on the listserve or exactly what that was, should make it all the more obvious how little you know about your own sport's history. Lately... though some say it would be pointless... I have felt that it would be worth the time to try and write out some sort of chronology of the NIC. Hell, I think some people even have old list archives floating around.... those would be priceless to reprint..... debates over what works better; a single large rubberband, or multiple chained rubber bands. WE DIDN'T EVEN OPEN THE FUCKIN GUNS BACK THEN!!! We debated rubber fuckin bands!!!! Christ...... look at how far this shit's come.

ANd I am a relative newb unless you consider people from NO "vets" even though I have been nerfing for...let's see I'm 13 bro started me at 5 so that's 8 years. The funniet thing is some people here like the horsemen and spoon have nerfed since before I was born. I just think thats funny now only if I could go to a YANO or LANO and own you all...meh too bad my parents won't drive me (or fly me) across teh country for nerf. Wow I am a cocky little bastard.

Well if you have to fly across the US to go to LA then you're probably on the East Coast and you could go to Reckoning and Apocalypse. I think there's a thread about a NJ spring war in the Nerf Wars section.

Yeah I live well I'm not sure somewhere between hell and virginia...OH yeah that's it Southern West Virginia! If I am very lucky I will be able to do that but it will be hard really hard to convince my parents i's worth it.

My parents never flew me anywhere for nerf, and they only drove us for a little while. If you want to make it to one of these big wars you have to take the responsibility on yourself to get your ass there.
