Celebrated New Years with my new killer Orange Box team. I suck at hl2 but own at tf2 and portal. In 5 matches (all in different maps didn't play Hydro) we lost 1 round...Oh well, we aren't COMPLETELY perfect...

I stayed up 'till about 2:00. I have stayed up longer. I think the whole real "happy new years!" thing is just an excuse for people to go out and get insanely drunk at stupid parties.

Happy new year guys,
I totally agree its so pointless, And how people think that just cause its new years you can throw out all the garbage from last year. BULLSHIT all your problems stay there and they still bother you. There is absolutely no difference between today and yesterday besides the numbers on our clocks.

Fuckin new years...

Yeah I stayed up until 4:00 A.M. Absolutely no point to New Years except for people to lie to themselves and tell themselves that something has changed. You can make a resolution anytime and if your truly committed to it you can make it happen, but just because you make it at New Years doesn't make it any different.

I went to my friend who lives in St. Pual's house. We played a lot of 360, and said the word pee-knuckle a lot. We stayed up until like 4:00 a.m., mostly because this kid who has ADHD was being annoying. At midnight we ran out into the street and started yelling and screaming, along the way freezing our asses of.

You ungrateful little kids.

You ought to be thankful you have another year to live.

I've told people like this in the past... whenever you feel like life is unfair to you, go to the cancer ward of a children's hospital. You never see the kids there grumbling or mad that they didn't get what they wanted or that they are uptight about this or that.

They're just happy to be alive one more day.

Did you know that in this country, the United States of America, 90% of teenagers own a mobile phone (cell, PCS, digital), a home computer (laptop or desktop), or BOTH? And 95% of households now connect to the Internet in one form or another (you wouldn't be here if you couldn't). No other country comes close to that.

In fact, in many other countries, teens your age are working 10-16 hours a day, for less money than you'd make at McDonald's in an hour.

Add to that the fact that you can walk your streets without worry about government troops or militia who can and would shoot you on the spot for some of the things that we take for granted; the ability of free speech to speak our minds about government, etc.

Sheet, the simple fact that you have clean water, electricity, and communications mean that you fare better than 70% of the world.

And problems? Problems are what you make of them. You can either sit there and bitch and moan and whine about them, or you can DO SOMETHING ABOUT THEM. Suck it up a little. Grow some round ones. Discipline yourselves, make those changes, or you'll be grumbling about the same things, time after time, year after year, and NOTHING will change until you do.

If the problem you have is with your "shitty, demanding parents", then pack up, move out, get a job, and show them how it's supposed to be done. Pay some bills. Go shop for and cook your own food. And you don't just clean up your room anymore, you clean up your whole house, including the bathroom.

Or, just be thankful that you have parents who care enough to give you a roof over your head and three meals (sometimes more), almost on demand while you play your video games or surf the 'net.

I had no problems in 2007. Only challenges that made me grow even more in character and in discipline, than in the previous year. I look forward to 2008. Happy New Year, people.

Friend and I stayed up to watch the ball drop, and then he left. I was asleep ten minutes later. 2007 was a kickass year (graduating from high school, working a killer job all summer, and then starting college), but 2008 should be cool.

Celebrated New Years with my new killer Orange Box team. I suck at hl2 but own at tf2 and portal. In 5 matches (all in different maps didn't play Hydro) we lost 1 round...Oh well, we aren't COMPLETELY perfect...

Thats not for certain.

Instead you should be glad you survived another year.

My new years eve was very boring. I stayed home this year and had a few beers.

I had two options

Option A: Go to Niagara Falls Casino on the 30th and be drunk for two days until new years with one of my buddies.

Option B: Go to my other buddies house who was celebrating by having dinner with another guy with no alcohol.

So we have super super exciting and very boring. I like to be somewhere in the middle leaning towards super exciting.

I would have gone with option A but I had to work on the 31st.

New years eve sucked but I am grateful to be alive I guess.

I got drunk, smoked a cigar at midnight, and proceeded to yell at people from a balcony 4 stories up. I'm such a terrible role model.

I, for one, am thankful for many things - to be alive another year, to have great friends and family, and also to Nerf your asses off again in 2008.

What kind of cigar did you smoke Groove? I'm a cigar fan myself.

I did not end up getting drunk, I did have a decent amount to drink though. My Girlfriend and I planned a party for our families on New Years Eve and we had a lot of fun. Lots of snacking and games, watched the ball drop, then watched that idiot dirtbiker jump a football field, then do it again.

All in all, an enjoyable experience and I'm looking forward to the New Year. It does, in spite of the cynicism voiced here, bring new opportunities for growth and change. I think it's going to be a good one.

I spent New Years recovering from accidental prolonged (2 day) exposure to partially toxic fumes.
And our usual tradition of watching movies until we all nearly fall asleep in the middle of one. But this time around we had the projector setup and were watching them on our new 9x6 foot screen.

Spent New Years Day cleaning up my Bedroom/Workroom

Well, got off work at 8, went home and took a nap, got up at 11 to drive to a party and kiss my gf when the ball dropped, then went home and went back to bed thanks to work at 7 today. Meh. The party was fun. The kiss was the shiz. The sleep schedule? ...

Piney... I get what you're saying, but this isn't really about being ungrateful. I mean, yea, some people didn't have fun, but that doesn't mean they're not grateful. For those who "f*" new year's... no, they don't like the holiday, but I bet they're happy to be alive. *shrug...*
