I guess you have some heavy duty industrial strength toilet paper holders. Do they advise you to wear eye protection when changing rolls?

She even got me a X-bow once. But she almost didn't get it because it didn't have the bow attachment and she thought that that was how it fired. But my mom said that I could probably fix it so she got it.
You'd better kiss the ground your mom and grandma walk on. No, seriously.
My parents (and other adult family) are fine with Nerf. Otherwise, I've only really told three people.
My younger brother is into Nerf, but not as much as I am.
I showed a standard-modded NF and AR-removed SMDTG, plus Bolt's homemades and The Eyes of Fire to a college buddy...he thinks it's pretty cool, but I suppose he's not really into it. Too bad...he's pretty good at laser tag (according to him) and athletic (unlike me), so at least some of that skill would probably carry over.
I also told my cousin (who is a few years older) about Nerf on Thanksgiving; what brought it up is that we were talking about some Zombie-related activities he was considering up at his school and I suggested HvZ. It really wouldn't be a bad idea, considering there is already a group of nerfers at his school. He thought it was cool, but haven't talked to him since then so I don't know what, if anything, he decided.
So, my score:
-Genuinely interested---1 (my brother)
-Fine with it-------------->2 (parents and other family)
-"Meh"-------------------1 (my friend)
-I don't know------------1 (my cousin)
-Totally against---------0
It could be worse, I suppose...could be a lot better, though.

I've been in and out of Nerf for the past few years, but now that I found the Haven I think I am in for the long run (life). My friends have always thought the blasters were cool and always enjoy shooting each other while still keeping it safe. But when I tell people at school about my hobby they always give me that weird look. Something along the lines of "Those plastic toy guns?", I respond with a "Hell yes!"

Just get out there and have a good time nerfing. If they want to play, that's great, if they think it's dumb, that's their loss.

My friend Nick is afraid of my guns. But, probably because my LBB shoots metal balls.
My friend Robby might get into it. Of course, only if modded does he even CONSIDER taking it seriously.
Everyone else is either OK with it or think its stupid. If they think it is stupid, or it is only for babies, i shoot them with a NF with uncovered weights.

But seriously, I show all my friends FA24's and Boltsnipers work, and they usually lay off.
I just usually bang mine against some sort of ananimaite object untill it eventually breaks off.

So, I guess Nick has metal balls?
WHOOSH!"AGH!" Now he doesn't.
No. Its some kind of Magnetics metal ball things i got from my German Grandma. Plus, there are these holes were you screw in plastic rods. I connect 3, and the thing gets recoil! Can anyone explain that?
Dark Shrimp: Well, you joined at 13, and i assumed you were modding. How do they not know? Do they know you are posting as Dark Shrimp yet you often exclaim "I LIKE TURLES"?
PS: Is it supposed to sound like your mildly retarded when you say that?
EDIT:
Hehehe. That was seriously unintentional.Plus, there are these holes were you screw in plastic rods.

I imagine this is a problem with a lot of younger nerfers. When "Nerfing" went from the occasional trip to Home Depot to wanting to attend a war like DCNO, they got a little more apprehensive. It just appears to them like I am "going to hang out with people I met over the internet" but it obviously doesnt deserve those negative sounding connotations. How do you guys deal with that?

I did join at a young age and I did mod and my parents found out. They were totally pissed at me and threw out all of my guns. They also refused to let me visit nerf haven. I wanted to get back into the sport but I knew my parents would never allow it. So I've been doing all of my moddin in secret. If you skim through my posts you can see that I stopped posting in '03 and started posting again in '05.

It's something I dont tell alot of people about mostly because of the lengthy explaition that always follows when you do. I'm sure you've been through that before.
Someone posted earlier about being in nerf for life, and personaly I can't wait till we're all nerfing in the retirement home, because i think it's gunna be funny as hell.
Edit: Is it just me or did it take any one else a long time to figure out you could shoot each other with nerf guns when you were realy little.

In highschool I can be known as one of the following:
The only freshman on the best varsity hockey team in the league, and a generaly popular kid,
or...
The fifteen year old who obsessivly plays with toy guns, and frequntly discusses them with 30 year old men on the internet.
so the first one is the obvious choice there.

rokor- I'm in the same boat as you on this one, that's another reason I don't tell many people about nerf.

I'm not dissing you here or anything, but why would you care what other people think? If they make fun of you just because you like something it just means that they are not mature at all. Just brush it off. Thats just my two cents.
