Wow... 300$$ for a Crossbow? They aren't worth THAT much... I wish Nerf would continue the Crossbow again! They would make alot of money out off them!

Yup, it's been discussed. Now there are 3 boards about the same thing.

I've said it before, and I'll say it again. The day Nerf re-releases the crossbow is the day they make a good Bloodrayne game. The Crossbow is just too old school for the kids today.

I guess no one is desperate enough to take that xbow off that guy's hands. You'd think he'd learn by now.

Yeas, it was me. One of these days I'll have to get around to explaining my name I guess, wasn't there a thread about that a while back?

I digress.

Crossbows are equaled or outperformed as far as range and accuracy go. They're a status symbol as much as anything these days. The shell itself is one of the most natural and comfortable nerf blasters to date, the reason crossbows excel, as far as I'm concerned, is that the people who modify them take the time and effort to do it right. A NIB Crossbow isn't admired for it's looks, and certainly not for its performance, but rather for its potential. One can take a Crossbow and turn it into a Guru, a Cain, a Sara, or any of the other Crossbows listed on the Thread created specifically for them. $300 dollars is more than many people spend on their entire arsenal. But for about half that you can buy a crossbow and all the materials needed to modify it.

I'm sure somebody with more money than sense will take this offer seriously at some point.

But it won't be me, because like the French and the Holy Grail,

I've already got one.

They would be worthless. Xbows are outperformed by at least ten common guns on the market. The re-release would give noobs access to something that used to hold a kind of collector's value. It's kind of like a graduation rite in Nerfing to have one, since they are so "legendary." Now, what would happen to that if anybody could walk into Wal*Mart and pick up a relic like that?

First of all there is a simple equation to this.

Want the xbow to be re-released = a homosexual kid.
Not wanting the xbow to be re-released = a strait cool kid.

Also I agree with Cmdrmack. Eventually it my be worth that to someone.

As a collector, I can say honestly that I would be FUCKIN' PISSED if they ever re-released it. As it is, the release of the Magstrike devalued all 4 Powerclips that I owned, and that was a new product release. I worked hard to get my first one, and even harder for the second one, and I have no plans on modding either of them. Just like Groove once said to me, and this will be a bad quote, "Once in a while, I pull it out from under my bed, hug it, pet it, admire it, and then slide it back underneath the bed." There are several other guns out there that, when modded correctly, can easily outperform the XBow, like The MaxShot or the Ertl Pump-Acrtion Ballgun (FA_24 has one that gave me a second belly button accurately from about 60 fet away that lasted for over 3 weeks)!

My point is this...stop wishing for something that will NEVER happen. It has been said a million times that it will never happen, so everyone needs to get a clue and live with it.

If in some drug-induced, Aqua-Dot ingesting, feverish moment it does happen, I can guarantee you that all the stores around me will ALWAYS be out-of-stock as I will do my best to buy them all, thereby securing the price on the originals at least a little bit for my sanity.

Your statement is dumb, to say the least.

Welcome to the Internet world.

I honestly don't understand why there have been so many people who don't understand this concept. The XBow is off the market as far as wood-and-stone retailers go. If the reason you want one is as a collector's item, we have some that pop up on occassion. If you want a powerful gun, get an ETRL-PS. Or a 4B/BS.

Also, don't bring sexual orientation or race or gender or any of that into this site. I'm not a homosexual, but it's offensive to see those terms. It degrades those who should be treated as equally as anyone just based on a personal choice.

Some things, Like the Crossbow, need to be left to retire and die. A re-release, as stated by almost everyone (who matters) above would be terrible. That's like a terrible sequel to a really good movie/movies. Like Jurassic Park 3. way to kill something I loved since I was a kid. Or a better example: The next Indiana Jones movie. You can't bring it back after so long. It just won't be the same.

No, the worst thing is that people continue to post topics like these that simply ogle and speculate at other people's decisions that really do not affect the nerf community in any way.

Does anyone know how much he paid for it in the first place? Unless they weren't around a year or two ago when that e-bay storefront flooded the market with $25-50 crossbows, anyone who wants a crossbow already has one. They didn't even get sold that quickly, I think it took over a year for the store to run out.

If anyone was really interested in paying more than $100 for a crossbow, they'd have no problem getting one. Almost everyone with a little extra cash on hand bought a spare back when they were cheap, and I'm sure Cx, OMC and a few others still have them stockpiled.

That being said, I'm tempted to throw mine up there for just a few dollars less just to under cut him. Who knows, maybe if enough people were selling their crossbows for that much, it would give the illusion that the market price really is that high and isn't going to change.

Thats how I felt when they re-released the BBB. I Look for one for weeks, since it used to be almost as cool as a crossbow to own (the days of bad Karma and Alf, etc.). About 8 months after i finish my quest, any moron can pick one up at target for 20$.

I don't get the whole value thing, I get blasters for thier performance, not value.
I do support everyone else in that they shouldn't be re-released, though, because there are better springers out there, like the Max Shot and the BBB. That is just personal opinion, however.

Even if the slight chance that they would be reissued occurred, They would probably be half as good as the original one. Just like the NF and the TTG reissues. I know the newer generations on those aren't that much downgraded from the original versions. Also Hasbro knows that there are people out there that actually would pay that, and think of the prices of something like that in 40, 50 years from now. Hasboro would know that if they still have a few lying around they could sell at an auction or something, or to a collector. But if they re-released such an artifact they would be lucky to get 50% of what they would have, because all these noobs don't really care if it's new or old they just was a freaking crossbow for God's sakes.

Oh sorry, since I am relatively new here I was unaware of the previous threads about this same topic.

I wouldn't say that the maxshot and bbb are better than the crossbow more like on par. From what I have seen at wars both of those guns get about the same range as a crossbow, but reliability seems to be an issue.

Thats true in most cases though.
I'm sure the BBB has the same performance as when it first hit the market.

IF the CrossBow was re-released, and based on your theory, I sure everyone would love it's comfort. It was funny, I was at my first war, I saw the gun that was whoppin my ass for the pass 3 rounds, I was amazed at what it can do. I yelled out, "Anybody selling any Cossbows?!" They all looked at me like I was crasy. I didn't know why then but I do now. Hey, maybe that Vercon gun is the new crossbow! I forgot the name of the new gun Habro was gonna release but it starts with a V. But I doubt it ofcourse. The Wars would never be the same with a re-released Crossbow.
