[Dart Attack]

A long time ago I had done this to my nightfinder.

I was pleased with it but there was one thing that pissed me off. The barrel kept falling off. So I came up with something new.

Materials:
Dremal,
9/16 brass,
Drill.

First open your gun and take out the plunger (take out the barrel too, you don’t need it). At the end of the plunger there will two air restrictors. One of them has a peg. Rip that peg off. Then dremal around it so that the 9/16 brass can slide through. It should end up looking like this,


Now to the second air restrictor. Drill a descent sized hole into it (one big enough so that you’re dremal can fit in). Dremal it out in tell it’s flush with the sides. 9/16 brass should be air tight when placed in.

Here is a picture of it with the hole drilled into it (Im sorry it’s all dark and blurry),


Once you stick the brass into the second air restrictor, slip the first one over it so that it looks like this,



Glue it altogether and put your nightfinder back together and test it out. Your barrel is now straight, durable, and level. My nightfinder can achieve ranges of 60'.

Clean. I can't figure out between all of these write-ups whether brass or CPVC is the better barrel material, or if it's mostly personal preference/budget.

Brass is better for range.

CPVC is much cheaper.

Just thought I would answer that for you. I like your idea, since it solves a problem I have been rather annoyed by. Unfortunately it wouldn't work for me since the NF I have has a CPVC barrel. All the same, good writeup

Barrel choice is always a matter of personal preference. Only you can tell what barrel material fits your darts.

You aren't the first. I believe Falcon was the first on the Den of Foam website, but you may be the first to post on NH with pictures. I've been doing this to all my NF's since I've stopped using CPVC, and I believe that it is the best way to barrel mod the NF. It keeps everything sturdy and straight. This also works with OMC's PETG.

Definitley not new. Brass is not the best barrel material, it's all out about dart fit, and barrel material will vary for people.

Yes, my darts didn't fit in 9/16 brass very well so I put some 17/32 brass inside it.

cpvc works the best for me because there is more surface area and thus with super glue, you can get the barrel to stick on really firmly. The brass probably shoots just as well but it breaks off easier.

Did you leave the original o-ring and stock spring in, or replace them?
