Come one, Come all! A very singular privilege for all the plebs, and a warm embrace for those high-profile folks among you.

I would like to announce that the Sex Dwarves intend to host a Pittsburgh Nerf War, The details so far are as follows:


Clash of Steel: Necrohorse of Glory

When: Saturday July 13th, 2013 10A-?

Age Requirements:

This event is open to those 13 and up, but there are specific requirements placed on that.

• Those aged 13-16 must have their parent or guardian on the premises, and that guardian must be fully aware of the risks involved. (I will not take blame if your child takes a hard hit)
• Those under the age of 18 are required to wear eye protections at all times during play. I strongly encourage, and likely will require something more than just normal eyeglasses (I was
  hit in the glasses at Hb4H, and it chipped the lens. They are not sufficient protection.)
• Those over the age of 18 are strongly encouraged to wear sufficient (see above) eye protection, but have the right to decline, and in doing so accept responsibility for any ocular harm
  that should befall them.

Parents, please be aware that this event will be mixed age groups. While we make attempts to be courteous to younger players, they will not receive favoritism or special accommodations,
and are expected to display a modicum of maturity and responsibility while playing (i.e. following rules, playing safely, respecting other players/pedestrians as well as the venue, and so forth).

Dart/Blaster regulations

Standard Nerf etiquette applies. Pittsburgh traditionally plays by a code of "If it's not downright dangerous, it's ok".

This applies to both blasters and darts in our community. We do not tolerate flat black, or other realistically themed blasters, unsafe darts (read on), but most of all,
we do not tolerate unsafe play.

There will be much discussion on dart regulations. We've fired countless darts, mostly 1/4" slingshot weighted, with no major incidents or complaints, but I am not insensitive
to the fact that somebody may have lost a parent or loved one to this "dangerous" ammo, and am considering implementing the second ever rule in Pittsburgh Nerf History
(Rule #1 is "Have fun" with like 36 sub-clauses) and making this a slugs-only war (full of self loathing and sub optimal performance).

Lodging

Lodging will be provided on a first come, first served basis, with a friendship constant applied. Otherwise, I will work on finding the best places to stay in a hotel for cheap.

More information will be posted here as it becomes available. This war is a good ways off, but I want everyone who can attend to have ample time to plan their trip, and budget appropriately.

This is an open event, All who can attend, should. Pittsburgh wars are extremely rare, and even more fun. Come and take us on in our native homeland, if you dare. Please post any questions related

I should be able to attend, assuming you are okay with the fact that I will be 2 days from being 15 years old on the day of the war. Also would the location of the park be something like Frick or Schenley, or something further out of town?

Given that everyone knows everyone else pretty well and we've all been fall-on-our-face drunk together, this is easily the best war for my annual bout of foampox. As long as things don't escalate even further, and I don't have to deal with getting capped in the face by some teenaged fuckwit with a singled bigblast, I'm fine with the current ammo regs.

That having been said, I think I might have to forgo the 'oldschool nerf' round if olschool = singled deathguns, since that round doubled my nasty welt count for the day last time.

As long as you play responsibly, you will be allowed to play. I very much would like to have your parent or guardian on the premises if at all possible. We never really had any outright young people (or at least have not for a long time), but the general rule is <16 guardian must be there <18 eye protection mandatory. I will add to the info section.

As for the park selection, I am not sure yet. I want to do some scouting. I haven't looked into Schenley or Frick for two general reasons: A) They're a little out of our way, as most of us live in the South Hills (and those who don't live far enough out that it's a wash) and B) Those two are heavily populated, especially during the summer.

For general reference, our main park is Armstrong Park, and if all else fails, we may play there. It has easily held wars with attendance from 6-25. We may stick to this park due to our familiarity and the facilities/geography it offers. I will be looking around though, so if you have a specific suggestion, feel free to make it.

The darts discussion is still open. Langley was one of the few people I would have made the slugs only mandate for, but depending on the draw, it may still happen. I don't want any fupas coming in here and ruining our safety record.

Whoa, I don't recall saying anything about people. Recall that I have no friends, Dom. I can certainly bring as much booze as anybody could want, but no promises about bringing anybody with me.

EDIT: Oh, I gotcha. Poor wording on my part. I meant I'll be there with maybe 1 or more working guns, not 1 person plus working guns for everybody. Remember, I'm a piece of shit, not a miracle worker.

I was going to finally get around to correcting my brother's age, but I see our long-lost-to-the-desert friend has already done so.

I can't believe I'm the only one that voted for Flamincows (although the vote for Wifey could possibly be counted as a vote for his better half).

I'll be there and may be +1 or 2 or 3 (depending on whether my coworker's fiance let's him go so close to his wedding, if my fiance wants to go, and if I can convince a friend to come).

I am surprised that I'm not the only one to vote for Bowser. He only went to 1 war, and has as many votes as us, the most travelingest of Dwarves.

Stupid question I know, but in general how does a dome compare to a paintball pain wise.
I'll still be there regardless (except if some crazy unseen circumstance forces me to miss) but I was just curious.

Not as painful, unless it hits you in a spot that would be covered by a mask if you were paintballing like the cheek or ear. It'll give you a welt if it's from close range but it's not bad.

Looking to get a ride from York PA, or if i can catch someone crossing 83 on the way west- perks to picking me up include the free turnpike fare out and back (i have an easy pass).
