Fat cats are extremely erotic by NH and God. God hates cats.

Both God and cats hate VACC.

Now that, my friend, was not a wise move.

Will edit with pics.

PS Sorry for the blurry pics on the painted guns. I know how annoying it is. I don't have a tripod and didn't have my flood light on it so it didn't turn out so well.

Posted by OfAllTheNerf on 29 January 2008 - 07:47 PM in Modifications

Quite honestly, two nights (except screwing it back together). I sat down on a friday night and commenced a 5-hour modification session. I'm pretty sure I got some serious brain damage (burning plastic+plumbers-goop= bad smell+ oxygen deprivation). It's not really that hard (now that I know exactly how to do it; easy for me to say). I'm thinking about making a write-up, but I'm going to think it over (if anyone would like one though, PM me so I can get a general idea).

And so that this post isn't useless, here...

Posted Image

Just a pic of the barrels of a modded At3k (currently in the possesion of one of my non-forum friends).

Edit: Twitch my god it auto-rotates too. I'm going to have to do that when I get another BBB...

Both of you should move the turrets closer to the actual plunger, all that dead space really can bring the ranges down below their optimum's.

Yeah, but to do that and make the turret straight would be a major pain in the ass. The turret in flat, and the front of the NF is flat. So it makes it perfectly straight, while sacrificing maybe 5'. I personally think it's worth it, because there would be more room for error if you tried to get it closer to the plunger. Plus, I don't really want or need anything more than 50' from a sidearm. That's what primaries are for. Ofcourse, if I'm playing in a pistol round that would be different, in which case I'd use something else (like a quadded SS2).

Anyways, heres some internal and external pics of Finnese (link in my sig), my LS-DTG, I don't believe I put the pics in here before, so just in case.

I don't have any recent external pics, but it'll have to do for now (I'll update it after I take some pics).

My NF. It has an ammo holder and ramrod holder integrated into the handle, and two ammo holders on the front.

Posted Image

Posted Image Posted Image

And my At5k. It's an at2k with a sm5000 valve inside it with an RF20 pump. It gets good ranges (80-100'), but has some pressurization problems (if I pump three times, it wont pressurize again without some work).

Posted Image

Posted Image

I know it looks like the barrel is pointing down, but it is dead accurate.

#137717 Modification and Paintjob Pictures

Very nice BBB! Makes me wish I didn't rip mine apart for the spring...

How's the seal? It looks pretty good, but if it isn't you could try using an o-ring.

Also, unless you're getting satisfactory ranges, it might help to lengthen the barrels. I don't know what is the 'right' length for BBB barrels, but I think 5" at the least.

And just so this post isnt completely useless (because every post should contain a mod/PJ pic), heres my quadded NF. Dunno the ranges, but it should get atleast 50'. It has a first edition NF spring in it.

Hey all,

I haven't been very active recently, but just finished my first PJ. It's not too pretty, but I think it's pretty good for a first-time.

Posted Image

Posted Image

My masking job wasn't too good, and I had to redo a few places multiple times. The result ended up having some uneven surfaces.

I really like the black/grey combo, and the red is a good accent. I still have some of each color left, so I'll probably be using it to paint many guns (I've already started painting my NF).

Questions? Comments? If anyone has any tips on how to mask well, please tell. All of the mess-ups were due to paint slipping under the tape or the tape not being perfectly aligned.

Blister, on your Crossbow, is there a valve or something behind the staggered barrels on the top (where the stock barrel is placed)? Or is it just a barrel holder for the main gun? It looks nice.

I understand that keef but why would someone have LED lights on a gun? My question is not why Forsaken put it there, but why the creators of GoW would in the first place. The only real reson I can think of is for cosmetic purposes and even then I don't think it looks that cool

Have you ever played Gears of War? I'll take that as a no. If you ever played, you would know that it is extremely helpful and saves your ass frequently.

I really hope that it is cocking by hand, but even if it is running around with a long belt of darts would be annoying, and could cause breakage.

But if it came down to it, I'd rather have it hand-cocked, just so it would be possible to modify it.

Either way, I want it.

What the fuck are up with those chains...

Looks like alot of useless plastic, and would be a pain to do a barrel replacement.

That's either an adult, or a really ugly kid with a mullet. I actually prefer the second, just because if NERF put adults on thier gun boxes, that would be a little creepy. Then again, maybe they are targeting the older Nerfers/modders like us.

They think we like guys/extremely ugly kids with mullets with man boobs?...

If that is on the box then I am going to have to seriously think over my decision to purchase one of these...

#142912 Where To Buy Modding Materials

I HATE Forst King 1/2 inch FBR. Mine was so big it couldn't fit in 9.16ths brass it was so tight! Fit nice in 19/32 brass real nice though.

I never thought of buying 3/8 inch. Is it similar OD to Angels Red FBR?

Yes. I've never had his exact foam, but I've had red foam that seems to be the same diameter, atleast comparing it to the fit people say FA's foam is. It's a little more costly, but onyl 2.49 for like 120 darts. Not bad. And yeah I hate the Frost King 1/2".

#142865 Where To Buy Modding Materials

Posted by OfAllTheNerf on 27 February 2008 - 04:27 PM in Modifications

Hey how does the mcmaster foam fit in cpvc/ 17/32" brass and medium walled OMC PETG?

I also found 100 mini glue sticks at A.C. Moore's for 5.99. They heat up EXTREMELY quickly, so if you want to use them to make darts you'll need a low temp glue gun, atleast if you don't want to have to unplug it every minute.

I also found that the 3/8" Frost King foam fits OMC medium walled PETG, 17/32" brass, and CPVC well when straightened in a drier (clothes drier). I know that the Frost King foam comes from different factories so this may not be true near you, but just so people know. Also I live in MA.

#110564 Paintball Tanks With Nerf

Posted by OfAllTheNerf on 10 June 2007 - 07:04 PM in Homemades

I just read it thouroughly for the first time, and I, as everyone who sees this, am truly astounded by the beastliness of this.

If I can every come up with a primary which uses are, or has something on it that uses air, I will think about spending the money on getting one of these. As it is, though, all my favorite primaries are centered around springs.

I have some questions though...

If you need to refill your gun, you simply push the push-button valve connected to the low pressure airtank. If you need to refill the low pressure airtank, do you push the push-button valve connecting the low pressure and HPA airtanks?

If I am geteting this straight, do you only have ot carry your DIY tank during a round at a war? Or do you carry the paintball tank too?

In the first part of your first post, you said that one should not use this system when using a gun that uses a bladder, such as the PC, Magstrike, ro rf20. But then you are using your MagStrike 20 in the video (which is very nice), did you replace the bladder with a "rigid chamber", or whatever you called it? If so, what was it?

The DIY tank doesn't look that big, now that I see it in a video (unless you are very tall). I think I might make one of those this Summer. It wouldn't serve much use presently, though, unless I go to some of the wars in Melrose.

Again, that is fantastic. Great job.

#110583 Paintball Tanks With Nerf

Posted by OfAllTheNerf on 10 June 2007 - 08:01 PM in Homemades

So did you hook the low pressure tank directly to the Magstrike piston?

#110594 Paintball Tanks With Nerf

Posted by OfAllTheNerf on 10 June 2007 - 08:41 PM in Homemades

No OfAll, because if he did, there would be no trigger mechanism to control the firing. He had to hook it up to the tubes where the bladder used to be.

Oh... :). Okay.

The lack of opening up my Magstrike probably contributed to my question.

Thank you, though.

#115814 A New Ls Modification.

Posted by OfAllTheNerf on 14 July 2007 - 07:32 PM in Modifications

Whoa, this topic has accumulated a lot of posts since this morning.

Thank you all for the compliments, I'm glad you all like it as much as me.

Questions:

camo, it's not really that heavy, at all. I must have been really tired the day I did all my testing with it (I haven't touched it in nearly a month), because when I was finishing up taking pictures it doesn't actually seem that front heavy at all. I can hold it with only my right hand (like I would if I was priming the main gun), without significant effort.

b00m, no the DTG handles did not have to be glued to the sides, it's purely cosmetic. The stuff around the handles is actually Goop, and I did attach the two bodies with goop (or epoxy) underneath.

nollan, that is actually CPVC in the DTB turret, and acts as an ammo holder.

Piney, thank you. As I mentioned before I don't actually think it's too heavy. I actually think I like the added weight. Yeah, those are the DTB handles :D ! I had them around after I cut them off, and thought I could improve it cosmetically. I think it actually blends in quite well. Also, thank you for adding me to the LS directory! I'm honored.

Forsaken, heh, yeah I guess I could do that (too bad I fucked up both of my CrossFire's...). I think I might make an attachment for the LS rail, and could do another integration of a CF on the bottom of the DTB, which would be permanent. But that might get a little excessive (but I like having a lot of fire power :w00t: ). I definitely want to do your LS mod on the main gun sometime this summer.

Dangaard, and for all who think I should having integrated the triggers, the reason I wanted to have two separate triggers is clearly articulated by badger. It wouldn't work, though, as NiteWalker mentioned; the trigger pull of the LS is a good bit shorter than that of the DTB.

Badger, thank you for explaining my thinking, I couldn't have said it better myself.

NiteWalker, Badger explained why I didn't want to integrate the triggers. And you are right; the trigger integration wouldn't work.

If any one has a question feel free to ask. I think it's clear enough, but then again I did do it... :D .

Glad you all like it!

#116209 A New Ls Modification.

Posted by OfAllTheNerf on 17 July 2007 - 07:08 PM in Modifications

Falcon, thank you. I completely agree with your view on the front-heaviness. I cannot fully comprehend some of your points, though, as I have never been in a Nerf war.

Camo, I don't really know what you mean. If you could explain in more detail I would be happy to help you.

CC, thank you. I don't really have the tools or materials to make a drum clip like Telekinetic, though.

Shadow, thanks. Hah, I'd love to come, but it's something like a 2+ hr drive to Jersey. I'll try to convince my parents, though.

Bpso, thanks. You're right, unless you just came out of a fire-fight, you'd never be caught without ammo.

Ninja, I trully hope you're kidding. The weight of a (stock) titan would make it extremely heavy and would probably rip it off the rail.

Prometheus, I don't know exactly what you mean, but yes, it is very easy to fire quickly in succession.

Zaphod, it's great to hear someone has already reproduced it. It will probably look a helluva lot better than mine, as I slapped it together in two days. Sometime, I might reproduce it and try and make it cleaner and focus more on cosmetics. In already have a another LS, but I think it would be kinda boring to just have two of the same LS. Then again this mod is beast, so...

Either way it would require more money, so I'll cross that bridge when I come to it.

Scotch, it took a little while. I'm sure it could be done even cleaner, though. Next time, I'll think long and hard and try to make it as clean and cosmetically appealing as possible.

Cmdrmack, thank you. I do like it, althought I can only dream as being as good as Forsaken or CS. I hope to go to some wars this summer, or hopefully next.

#115882 A New Ls Modification.

Posted by OfAllTheNerf on 15 July 2007 - 03:37 PM in Modifications

I have to disagree Dangaard. His design makes alot more sense when it comes to keeping the trigger systems seperated. If they were to be connected, you would have to prime both guns after each shot, increasing reload times and making you more vulnerable to other shooters. By keeping the triggers seperate, if he runs out of shots in his clip, he can use the DTG as backup fire until he get a chance to load a new clip, or vice versa.

He wouldn't have to prime both guns after each shot. Connecting the triggers would work exactly like the regular Front gun integration - Cock ONLY the Longshot to fire the long shot, and cock ONLY the DTG to fire the DTG.

But leaving them seperate does make sense. That way, if they are BOTH cocked, you don't have to fire them both at the same time.

I find myself wondering why a few people called this fugly... I find it very neat and well put together. You did a great job on this.

I just have to do this... Next time I get some cash, I'll buy another Longshot, buy a pack of DTG's, and make one of these. Great Job, OATN!

Yeah, that's pretty much the reason I made separate triggers.

Thank you. The only part of it that I find a bit fugly is the place where the key ring comes out, I cut off a bit too much and now there's a gaping hole, but I don't really care about a little hole if I have this beast.

Camo, It's really easy to reach my index finger into the keyring, and it moves back to it's place automatically. Occasionally it will get stuck, and the turret won't rotate (only if you don't pull it back fully the shot before), so you only have to push the keyring back in. If anyone replicates this, I would recommend using a thinner, or more flexible wire to connect the trigger. Copper wire (used for handing pictures), I find it very flexible. When I open it up to FA_24 it, I'll probably replace the wire. Fishing wire probably would work too, it would be very flexible, maybe too much. Also, it's not quite as durable at metal wire.

But back onto your question, it is quite easy to get my finger into the keyring. I don't have to adjust my hand's position on the handle. My hands are a little large, though. So if you have small hands, just make the wire a little longer. You could even run the wire through a piece of brass or CPVC once it is outside the gun, then attach the keyring. That way the keyring would be closer to the handle, and you could reach it easier.

#115759 A New Ls Modification.

Posted by OfAllTheNerf on 14 July 2007 - 09:00 AM in Modifications

Hello everyone.

This project has been done for quite a while now.

The reason I haven’t posted it yet was because I had planned to do it to my Crossbow, until I decided it would be extremely large on it.

Much thanks go to Falcon for thinking up this crazy scheme. I probably wouldn’t have been able to think of it myself.

But enough talk.

Here it is.

Finesse:

Internals.

More pics.

Posted Image

As you can see, I integrated a DTG onto the front of an LS. Inside I ran a metal wire from the DTG trigger out to a keyring. I wanted a separate trigger for the DTG, since it has more shots than the standard front gun integration; in a war situation, I might want to save my main gun’s shot, but rush at people firing the DTG.

I believe it is the best integration (for the LS) yet. I now have twelve main shots (thanks to Slug’s mags), and ten back up shots! It’s perfect for rushing, and could probably take out a small group of people.

But the ingenuity of it is really in how it’s primed. The DTG is attached up-side-down, so that I can use the cocking handle to cock it, like a pump action shotgun. The method of cocking is what makes it special, and all credit for this goes to Falcon. The screws ending up on the same side after the DTG was flipped is like a sign it was meant to be.

Due to the DTG being a good deal bigger than the front gun, it does make the gun a little front heavy, but with a strap (not shown), the front weight is still bearable even when removing a hand to cock the main gun.

Questions? Comments?

#138522 Recon Shoulder Stock Rebuild With Spring Integration And Shotgun Mod.

Posted by OfAllTheNerf on 04 February 2008 - 06:29 AM in Modifications

Nice job!

But what is the smaller piece of PVC? Also, how did you dremel out that entire tube (seeing as a dremel's bits are only so long)?

I also like the shortened stock. It feels extremely annoying long, especially considering it bends like hell.
