#260101 Modification and Paintjob Pictures

Posted by atomatron on 29 December 2009 - 04:19 PM in Modifications

My most recent project: S.A.D. Blaster (Semi Auto Dart tag Blaster).

Posted Image

I basically gutted everything except the turret mechanismand trigger, stuck a BS tank in there, hooked it up to a valve, pump and a CPS super soaker tank.

Posted Image

I made this to be an indoor monster, it gets upwards of 50' with stock darts, which is pretty good considering that after 25 pumps I can get 5 shots off.

My Secret Shot 2, the easiest mod I've done in a while.

Posted Image

I basically cut the barrel, took out the AR, super glued the barrel back on, hollowed out the back of the secret barrel so that a dart can fit through and I superglued the yellow rubber part back on. The stock barrel acts as a coupler for the medium wall PETG with a 17/32 brass stub in it, but I have found it fun to use the secret barrel as a breech of sorts; with a flick of the wrist it goes up, I load it, pump 10 times, press the upper trigger and fire. I don't have ranges yet but with the 6" speed loader it can punch holes in a box so probably 90+.

Clear longshot breech.

Posted Image

The end result:

Posted Image

Posted Image

Posted Image

It shoots just as far as my old one, the only changes:

-Stock spring with [k25] spring instead of a BBB and NF combo
-Better plunger head cushioning
-Completely solvent welded together
-Due to the use of polyester; the seal is not as good
-Less epoxy putty

Posted by atomatron on 03 April 2010 - 09:58 AM in Modifications

This sat in pieces collecting dust for 6 months, I used it only once at the exSOF war in August..

I put it back together only to find that I really don't have a use for it, so I'm selling it.

It has a [k25] spring,a 1' 17/32" brass insert and that is a different turret, the Etape is mostly for show, though it does add to the purpleness.

Got a Rough Cut.

Tediously removed the pegs but maintained these nubs so the mechanism would still work

Decent blaster IMO, those Elite darts are just as inaccurate as steamlines judging from the 8 that it came with.

A small update for my LS:
Posted Image
It prevents darts from falling out the bottom of the clip slot if you fumble a dart while loading.

Very helpful while running and reloading. These 4" pieces of CPVC saved me a few times at SPANO (on my other LS).

My singled RFSG
Posted Image
I tried to make it as ugly as possible (without leaving it black) to match my nerfing suit jacket.

Interchangeable stock for my RFDG:

Posted Image
Posted Image

A section of 1/2" PVC is hot glued into the stock attachment thing and then I bolted the PVC bit to the shell on both sides, (I intend to use the folding stock thing with this) also the raider stock is bolted all the way out.

Xbow fix:

Posted Image

I tapped the stock/worn out screw ports for 6-32 and cut bolts down to fit, works well so far.

My new Longshot CPVC and 2K pump tube breech. I had been kicking this idea around for a while and finally got around to getting it done -except for the paintjob-.

Posted Image
^The breech cover is the thing with grey epoxy putty on it, it is closed in this picture.

The gap for the darts to go in is 1+1/2" long and the pump tube piece is 2" long, it is situated farther back than any other LS breech that I have seen and has only about 2" of deadspace.

It's pretty cool because when it is cocked the pump tube/breech cover slides over the CPVC and when it is moved forwards the cover stays in the same spot, so I only have to put a dart in and pull the cover back. Another upside is that I never have to worry about losing my fingers to this LS.

I left the bipod on because I don't have what I need to finish it and its comfy. Also with a NF spring, silver BBB and LS springs it is getting 90'+ (it's hitting the fence at the other end of my yard). Other info; it has a static stock and the barrel goes all the way to the end of the orange thing at the front.

#233465 Modification and Paintjob Pictures

Posted by atomatron on 30 May 2009 - 05:56 PM in Modifications

So I took a BBB and added a SM750 to it, the pump is integrated into the top portion of it and is pumped by holding the trigger on the BBB down and pretending to cock it four times then fired by means of a trigger I made from some wire.
Posted Image

This is possible because the draw of the BBB is 3+1/2" and the pump for the SM750 is about 4".

CPVC couplered Nitefinder with front ammo holder. Ranges are consistently in the 70's.
Posted Image

Trishot attachment made from 1/2'' to 3/4''coupler and four 2'' CPVC sections. [gets about 32' average]
Posted Image

Rear view of my brassed doubleshot with half shell ejection. Gets about 25' to 35'.
Posted Image

Posted Image

My old Mav... it doesn't work too well, the seal has degraded or something and the paint is a little worn. It gets about 20' to 25'.
Posted Image

The cocking bar retainers broke, so I replaced the bar with one from a LS front gun. the orange nubs are AR things.
Posted Image

Crap, some of them are out of focus...

#208687 Modification and Paintjob Pictures

Posted by atomatron on 01 February 2009 - 04:56 PM in Modifications

My stuff:

My current primary; a BBB (old purple version). It took about 4 hours to do (with drying time). I plugged the arrow holder holes with epoxy putty as opposed to cutting them off.
I personally think it could use some more red on the front handle.
Posted Image

My NF, there's a little wear on the handle from my decision to wear rings while nerfing.
Posted Image

and an Effeminate shot (with bands).
Just to note; this one HAD a blue LED in it, then became finicky and stopped working...
Posted Image

My second favorite MAV (that works).
The sticker says: "CAUTION do not stick finger into the center of this device"
Posted Image

it looks a little worse-for-wear because I painted it during the summer and it has been used since then.

#321682 Homemades Picture Thread

Posted by atomatron on 16 September 2012 - 12:39 AM in Homemades

HEC 2c, Writeup in the works. This is a moderate redesign of an earlier model which was a re-purposed failure (trigger linkages are dumb). This one works perfectly, shoots as far as everything else, has 6.5" of draw with a [k25], total length is 33" and it probably weighs close to 10 pounds. At first the handle being so far back was kinda weird but now I'm comfortable with it, this is still an improvement over the other one.

Posted Image

The original HEC 2(a) is in the middle, I initially wanted a standard handle positioning.

My RainBow; the pink and black

Posted Image

I used 1/2" ID polycarbonate for the plungertube (not advised as it costs 8 times more than PVC and there aren't any PVC fittings that really fit). I used a [k25], a magical 3/4" to 1/2" reducing coupler thing for the front and a 1/2" OD washer sandwich.

The handle is similar to PACs

#286943 Homemades Picture Thread

This is... BOW

Posted Image
it's about 4.5" tall, the barrel on it is 20". The cross section is identical to those on PACs and it can be taken apart down to the cross assembly.

Posted Image
Cutting this slot was a real pain, at the back there is a catch which can work but I found it sort of a pain and I have since made it so that it doesn't work.
It has an 11" draw and puts out 16 in^3.

Posted Image
I reamed out a 1/2"PVC coupler and attached it to the string for easier pulling, then there's a 1/2" to 1 1/4" bushing, a 1 1/4" coupler and the plunger tube of 1 1/4" PVC.

That's interesting, I usually just put a dash on the back of my darts with a sharpie. It doesn't make them that much more visible but helps to identify them in the collection pile.

Only about a week away people. The weather looks like it will be nice(ish):
High of 44* and Low of 26* mostly cloudly.

A friend of mine says he will go.
He is somewhat noobish (he's only ever used my BBB and a mav) I'll have him informed by the 28th as to what the expectations are (calling hits, 3/15 and all that jazz).
