To restart it, either Reboot your computer or go to start -administrative tools- services-F@H and click start. Assuming it's a service. Try one or both of those ways.

Not sure, but, is it using your CPU? That would be the first thing to check, other than that, or running both as service and from console (I did this once), not sure. Cx, Spoon? Someone else?

You have to let it finish the current workunit before uninstalling and reinstalling. Also, after uninstalling, make sure to go to control panel-administrative tools-services, and disable FAH if it isn't automatically done.

I've never used any other client but the console. If they use the same files (likely) it may be possible by overwriting client.cfg and the work folder. But, I haven't tried it. It probably won't let you, I've had it restart a work unit after changing client.cfg because it was Anonymous. Then, I did the same thing again and kept the work unit on another machine.

Crank'

Oh, I recommend just finishing your work unit.

One of those machines I fixed the config is rockin'. Too bad I didn't do that 3 days ago!

My PC's are back on, I went on vacation and turned them off. So I'll be helping out again.

10 second Edit: After this Work Unit, I'll leave the Sempron 3100+ on with nothing else running because someone wanted to see how it folded, I think it was Cx.

Just saying I added another machine.

And Shinny, if you don't get some of those rigs up on this, it looks like I may pass you

Crank'

Guys, lets keep with this, we are almost in the Top 500.

Just a few reminders and notes.

Well, everyone keep on folding.

I know over time your machines may have F@H removed throughout formats. I know I am guilty of this. My main workstation hasn´t been folding for a long time since I stopped using SuSE 10.0 (quite a while). I just put it back on my main machine and will be checking the rest of the machines to get my folding processors back up to 5.

Congrats everyone, we are above cisco systems´ folding team. And that just kicks ass.

Passed ya Shinny. Running about 4 rigs down. Then again, you aren't using anything.

400th post, sure is a damn shoddy one at that.

Some random updates:
I realized one small machine I setup FAH for the other day didn't keep my settings, changed that through the client.cfg file.
My main rig is now running SUSE 10.0 and I have FAH running on it as of 2 minutes ago. I'm happy to say I checked the client.cfg file and my settings stuck.

Just got back from camping, kind of tired...Kind of worried...still says I only have 2 CPU's running it...will...check...logs...tomorrow...

Crank'

And 'grats on top 2000

EDIT: What's with the 100ghz Cluster? Now, if we could get condor running, we could do much more important things than FAH, like encode movies really fast. </sarcasm>

Edit 2: I just checked my machines, 2 of them were running as Anonymous, now all 4 are under my name :P Watch out everyone, Crankymonky's score is about to go up fast!

A few MBR crashes later, my BIOS is my bootloader, and F@H is now running on another rig.

We're almost in the top 450 teams!

I noticed that on two of my machines, both running XP, 1 home 1 pro, that after a reboot I had the FAH core running at approximately 50% CPU under both my username and system. Maybe setting it to a service was a poor choice?

#60483 Nerfers Nerfing Disease

Hmmm, I'm still waiting for my other 3 CPU's to finish a work unit... Maybe I should check on those... Well, 100% CPU will be recieved for 3 days! Baelnorn, my victory is eminent! <g>

#59387 Nerfers Nerfing Disease

Posted by Crankymonky on 15 July 2005 - 12:02 PM in Off Topic

My explanation for not being on there:

Well, one of my computers is off semi-permanently for the time being at least.
The other machine's CPU is being used up by Dave's favorite online game-Knight Online.
And, my mom's machine would be more comfortable without it.

BUT!, I will get one CPU up on it once it arrives. That's a promise. I'll probably change my username to crankmyonky1 or something because machine ID 1-3 were taken and now not in use, or maybe I'll just start at 4. The machine is a sempron 3100+, and I hope to OC it to about 2.5 ghz from the stock 1.8.

EDIT: Hmm, I guess this should probably go into the poll thread. But I do hope to help you guys out once at least this thing arrives.

Fine, Fine, You get my PC's and a few of my friends. Once I get home from work. I think I'll put it on 7 machines. 1 AMD sempron 3100+, 1 athlon XP 2000+, 1 Celeron D 335 2.8ghx, 1 P4 2 gz, 1 P3 500mhz, and 1 P2(?) 335 mhz.

I have it running now on 4 PC's, but only one has finished a workunit. I just realized that one PC didn't accept my settings and was set to Anonymous. I edited the client.cfg file for my name and this team, but lost my progress on the work unit. Well, I've had a lot of trouble getting this running, but I think it is setup now.

C, you're gonna have to wait to see how the new sempron compares. Shipping was postponed! But guys, keep on keeping on! I did figure out why my machines were running two copies. After selecting it as a service, it loads up under "system" rather than "yourusernamehere" Then when I booted up, I probably started it again under my username. It runs under "system" for everyone once selected as a service and given a reboot, correct?

Crank'

Correction: It is still running under my Athlon XP 2000+ which I just got a powercable for.

Badwrench has taken the time to re-encode all the Foamtalks. They are now significantly smaller, in terms of file size. I am unaware of any other changes. Audio Quality should not have changed noticeably. I will be keeping the older versions of the first 10 Foamtalks online, at least for the time being. This is so anyone who may be linking to them has a chance to update their links. It may be best for other sites to link to the NerfHaven or NerfHQ Foamtalk threads if you wish to link to the podcasts.

Is the general consensus that this one ran too long with too many off-topic "jokes," and that it would be improved by cutting some of it? If so, I will be putting up a revised version up shortly. If you have recommendations for segments that should be cut, please list them.

Bustaninja, I like the funny hat.

I like it. It would be better with a bit more editing, but hey, what wouldn't?

I understand the crack at me, and in all fairness, it was immature, without class, and whatnot, but really. I'm gonna call you guys out. You raved about not being immature and whatnot, but yet did nearly the same thing, in honestly a more rude fashion. I mean really... I wasn't hurting anyone, but you believe personal attacks on my character are necessary... Come on.

I was clearly being sarcastic and did not intend to take a crack at your character. Anything I may have said that could be seen as derogatory toward you regarding that post could have easily been applied to myself as well since I made a nearly identical post.

Sorry if you found it offensive, was just making a little joke about the joke you made about my joke.

And no, that isn't ambiguous at all.

I hope you accept my apology and acknowledge my jestful tone.

I think we had a solid pilot episode that highlighted the needs for technical changes, which will be instated for the next episode. Now hearing people's feedback is the best way to improve for next time.

We've considered doing "Live" show where there will be a method for "calling in." However, likely there would probably be editing at the end.

I was measuring the width of one wall of the inner tube. If you stack 30 of them together, each wall is 3 cm. That is about 1.5inches, just for wall size.

You're having pulling the trigger open both the valve to the bladder and the AT2k valve? That may slow the rate of how the gun reacts, but maybe not.

I realized I don't have nearly as quick a finger as Thirst, and I can get about 3-4 shots off with it. Bic Pen mod may make it far more easy to regulate with your finger. Maybe an extended Bic Pen mod and simply make it a hair trigger.
