All darts, excluding 'super domes' are allowed. Regarding blaster bans - basically, don't be a dick. If it's too powerful, we'll ask you to stop using it, and if you have any concerns, feel free to PM me. Singled 4Bs are not allowed unless they have a hopper and OPRV. Titans must have an absolver. Homemade airguns are allowed if they aren't stupidly powerful. It is not recommended that anyone under 13 shows up, and if you are under 13 and you show up without a parent that stays the whole time, you'll be kindly asked to leave.

You are allowed to block anything 5/8" in diameter and under with your blaster. Large ammo (arrows, balls) counts as a shield breaker.

Glue domes are alright as long as they're not crazy. Send a pic if you think that applies

The C.L.E.A.R

To begin, a picture of the final blaster.

cBgROmd.jpg

It uses no glue, screws, or adhesive, and all parts can be bought from a hardware store for under 20 dollars, with the exception of tools.
2.75" of draw, but at whatever spring strength you want. I can put a fully compressed Hillman/Everbilt #69 spring in it, without any issues.
Ranges are about the same as any other primary out there, ESLT, SNAP, +bow, etc.
Easiest thing I've ever built, which includes building a slingshot.

Tools needed:
Pipe cutter

Materials
1 3/4 in. x 3/4 in. x 1/2 in. PVC Sch. 40 S x S x S Reducing Tee
1 1/4 in. x 3/8 in. x 1/2 in. Bronze Flange Bearing
1 4.625 in. x 1.25 in. x 0.12 in. Zinc Compression Spring [Or other suitable compression spring]
2 1-3/8 in. x 1-1/8 in. x 1/8 in. Buna Rubber O-Ring
1 1/2 in. CPVC CTS 90-Degree Slip x Slip Elbow
1 3/4 in. Schedule 40 PVC Plug
1 60:25 Caulk Gun [Or other ~3 dollar caulk gun. I've found these at Big Lots, so lots of options here]
1 1-1/4 in. x 2 ft. PVC Sch. 40 Pipe
1 1/2 in. x 2 ft. PVC Sch. 40 Pipe
1 1/2 in. x 260 in. PTFE White Thread-Seal Tape
1 3/4 in. x 1/2 in. Schedule 40 PVC Reducer Bushing
1 1/2 in. x 2 ft. White PEX Pipe

Total price:
$19.46

Cut 7.25" of 1-1/4" PVC off of the 2' stick

Abv0TUU.jpg

Cut off the ends of the 3/4"x3/4"x1/2" reducing tee so there is 1" of pipe from the center line to the 3/4" ends

lfJfDsw.jpg

iycb1jD.jpg

Cut the smaller end off of the 3/4 in. x 1/2 in. Reducer Bushing, so that it is only .75" long

Place an o-ring on the bushing, and push the bushing into one end of the tee. Take off the o-ring, and wrap the gap with teflon tape, 7 wraps should suffice.

U9ovTlq.jpg

Cut off a .5" ring of 1/2" PVC, and place it inside the other end of the bushing. Take .5" of 1/2" PEX, and push it inside of the 1/2" PVC.

Wrap the flange bearing in teflon tape, or in my case, surgical tubing, and push that inside of the PEX

Take this nested piping and push it into the other end of the tee

Tfruq6D.jpg

xotKTeY.jpg

Take one of the rings of 3/4" PVC coupling from the tee, and place it on the 3/4" PVC plug

NrFpPrZ.jpg

Place an o-ring on the 3/4" PVC plug, and wrap teflon tape in front of it to keep it in place

JlQZ6XX.jpg

Place the spring inside the 1-1/4" PVC

Place the plunger head in front of the spring, with the larger side facing the spring, inside of the 1-1/4" PVC

Place the tee inside of the 1-1/4" PVC, facing the plunger head

Unscrew the nut from the caulk gun, and remove the metal washer. Pull the rod out of the caulk gun, without squeezing the handle

kP6QJoM.jpg

Place the plunger assembly into the caulk gun, and replace the metal rod.

Thread the nut back onto the rod, using your fingers, or if necessary, pliers.

UwXz8Ex.jpg

Wrap the 1/2" CPVC elbow with teflon tape, then push into the 1/2" hole of the tee

NRbkmcd.jpg

Ufs9xmN.jpg

Cut a 1' section of PEX, and place it into the end of the elbow

When: May 17th & 24th, 3pm till 7ish

Rules: [stolen from recent SCUN update]

Just like the last one, this war will have some very different rules than the usual. This is to continue to prepare the locals for the upcoming changes that are expected for this year's Armageddon.

Firstly, No glue domes. Any softer ammo type is fine, be it slugs, putty wraps, amiors, or others of the like. Follow ryan mcnumbers' guide on how to make if unsure.

Secondly, eye protection will be mandatory for all ages. This is because due to the softness and aerodynamics of the ammo types some higher velocity blasters are able to be used for this war.

Third, blaster restrictions are as follows:
-Titans and anything with a titan tank in it (unless you are firing stock rockets, Drac's rockets, or if you are firing darts out of seven or more barrels simultaneously)
-Homemade Airguns (includes anything with a pump/valve that isn't made by hasbro/lanard/buzzbee such as those drain cleaners)
-Guns with plugged pumps that were designed to shoot anything larger than a mega dart. (LBB/BBBB, Signal Launchers, UMBs etc.) -Relocated pumps must include a stock OPRV and must have comparable range and performance to the same blaster with a stock pump.
-Super Soakers

Any questions you can post here or pm me.

Hope to see you there.

First off, an overview of what the blaster looks like.

This design is similar to most homemade airguns, and as such, the firing mech can be replaced with whichever sort of release mechanism desired, PVAT, Ball valve, WNTS, etc. Anything that isn't backpressure.

It works much like Kane's 7-11, compressing air "in the pump", and does not have a secondary tank that stores pressure.

The front nodule is the trigger, and is connected to the backwards check valve in the pump via steel rod. Depressing the front button is how you fire the blaster.

A visualization of how the blaster works. "Snapshot" taken at moment of firing, red is pressurized.

Materials
2" PVC
Caulk gun [large]
2" piston cup 9411K14 [Can be substituted with anything that has a 100% seal]
Firing mech of some kind [I used a check valve system]
2" to 3/4" PVC reducer bushing
3/4" PVC
Washers, nuts, and bolts.

Pic of the piston cup

The main body is just a piece of 2" pvc and the bushing couplered together.

If you havent noticed yet, I forgot to take pictures during assembly, but the whole thing is pretty simple.

Questions/Comments/Flames appreciated.

Rough Cut AR/peg removal

18 December 2012 - 02:04 AM

In this mod, you do not need to boil the turret, as it is friction fit, and will possibly deform in the water.
This is a peg removal and airflow mod, the physical air restrictors or "valves" are crucial to the function of the blaster's turret.

Materials needed:
Etape or goop
flathead screwdrivers
scissors or thin cutting tools
screwdriver

Begin with your Rough cut turret

Unscrew screws and pop off the top. You get this.

Posted Image

Pry in the indicated spots.

Posted Image

Posted Image

Front lip should open

Posted Image

Keep going till you get that.

Posted Image

And youre in!

Posted Image

Posted Image

Take out the bottom two air restrictors.
Plug up those holes as well. Etape will suffice.

Snap those pegs out

Posted Image

Do not break anything else off.

Reassemble and enjoy!
