What ever you do, do not pressurize that cannon. Those bell reducers you have used to go from 3" to 1 1/2" are a special kind of fitting. They are called DMV fittings or drain waste vent. They absolutley not pressure rated and you have basicly built a bomb. Next time when make sure that your fittings and pipe are not DMV.

This guy is absolutely correct, those fittings are NOT pressure rated and pvc shards are SHARP. Also your valve us a HUGE air restriction because its tiny and it opens REALLY slow because its a plastic ball valve. If you liek this kind of thing head over to spudfiles.com, thats where real homeade guns like this are, not nerf.


And you guys can stfu about the metal, pressure rated PVC pipe is safe even beyond its rating so don't go beyond it, and don't let it get brittel in the cold and you will be fine.

You probably aren't still looking, but if you are I built a nice air powered potato guna while backand put a nerf barrel on it. I measured the FPS of the dart at differnet pressures to see if they were a direct variation. Got me all the points, and left some nice dents in my garage door from teh suctions. what do you expect from foad at 350 feet per second? Always aska teacher first, I was even allowed to bring in the gun teachers didn't know its capable of shooting ball bearings through frying pans...

Its a new valve to nerf, yes. And its a good way to make one, but its just a manually operated hammer valve.

Simply put force is mass and velocity. A potato has a TON more force because it weighs a lot more. I can put a D cell batter much farther than a nerf dart!

Any gun that shoots darts that slow through a flame is a piece of garbage. I chronographed my gun shooting a nerf dart and was hitting 300 FPS at 40 PSI. Thats one third of the pressure I can take it too. The gun you saw was probably made by some noob who has no real knowledge about potato/nerfguns. He sounds much like yourself. Come on, you ever put your finger through a flame? I bet you cant move it at more than 20 feet per second, and, honestly how hot did it get??

also I think you need to get off the crack and alchohol and get your head out of the pyroclastic clouds before you kill someone, just a thought

KK man, lets just assume that his main chamber can hold back 5 PSI which is less than your lungs can make. it takes much less than that to push a dart out of a small barrel. And there are around 50 barrels. The 5 psi chamber would stay intact. Theres no way PVC could even crack with that. Unrated PVC(DWV) can take at least 50 PSI so even if he uses unrated parts hes still fine. I'd build this myself just to show you guys, but I really don't feel like cutting 50 holes in some pvc.
BTW I'd fire a gun that can put a potato 600 ft. (we measured) at my stomach from 2 feet away with a nerf dart in it. the worst i could get is a bruise.
