In Topic: Nerf War In The Baltimore Maryland Area

Sounds great. Looks like I over looked you guys accidentally (earlier) but it appears were about on the same page. Which is cool.

The group I am with is working on getting Rec and Parks approval and focusing in the Reisterstown/ Owings Mills area. Were mostly CCBC students (Community college of Baltimore County - Cationsville), we also know a few Townson Univ students and some non-students who might be interested.
We love to get more interested players or work with a larger already existing groups, ect.

Closes thing a friend of mine came up with was using a Nerf FootBall or a Nerf VORTEX foot ball (the ones with the tail and tail fins), and using the rule of it must impact with in 3 feet or 1 arm distance to count as a hit. I know it sounds rather low tech, but it seems do-able. Since were following the logic that nerf war is a military sim type of game.

In Topic: Gluing Plastic To Neodymium Metal Magnets

27 September 2009 - 05:15 PM

And, as a note, you should never hot glue neodymium magnets to anything, as they're sensitive to heat ihgher than 150 degrees. As they're exposed to temperatures that high, they lose their magnetism quite quickly.

I almost forgot about that, good tip there SchizophrenicMC.

I believe other magnets are also sensitive to heat, the actual temperatures the magnet will lose its magnetic field varies with he type of magnet and the material the magnet is made from.

As for the topic of gluing a neodymium magnet, I was thinking applying some 2-part epoxy directly to the magnet and and the other surface then letting it dry before adding the epoxy to glue the magnet to the plastic of the blaster gun. Similar technique to gluing with contact cement. giving the chance for the epoxy to bond to the magnet before adding any weight/stress to the adhesive.

In Topic: Raider-cs 35 Drum Clip

27 September 2009 - 05:06 PM

I hope you are asking if you could use a hollowed out Raider drum and not actually asking if you could use it normally. Vulcans can not take LS/Recon magazines, what do you think?

Anyways, good job with this cosmetic mod, I am glad to see that it is indeed possible. I was worried that it wasn't at all.

I never used the Vulcan, So I honestly did not know. I heard the mag from the LS and Recon fit the Vulcan so I felt it was worth my time to ask before I tried to chop apart blasters.

Ok, first off, thank you guys for the good feedback!!

Now for some question answering and teaching dumbasses:

Offcourse it won't fit the vulcan are you stupid???!!!

No I am not stupid, but I haven't personally fired off every blaster nerf made ether. Look, I did not know if removable parts are interchangeable in every n-strike nerf blaster or not. The stupid thing to do is to buy the Raider and Vulcan and try it out before asking. Jack Ass.
Do not go and assume that someone stupid because they asked a question you assume is common knowledge.

In Topic: Nerf War In The Baltimore Maryland Area

I searched both here and google and found no actually groups who do Nerf Wars in the Baltimore Maryland area.

Really?

University of Maryland has a Nerf club that meets regularly and has events open to the general public. College Park is only about 30 minutes away from Baltimore.

I honestly did not see it the first time around. Also my Univ of MD do you mean college park or a different campus, since they have like a dozen though out the state. I talked to people who go to UMBC (University of Maryland Baltimore country) and they told me they have no official nerf club at this time.

But any ways of they have a site or anything that would be greatly helpful.
