I'll put it this way. The original Rainbow Six games sucked horribly. It was too much stealth, too much planning. The casual gamer could not pick it up and have fun. So, from what I've gotten from the demo and fallen in love with, I'll say this... Rainbow Six 3 is going to be best blend of action/stealth ever. Their are times when you have to shoot every mofo in the room, and sometimes when you have to make calculated maneuvers (which is the easiest thing in the world).
There are no in-game menus like the originals. Everything is on the fly, point and click simplicity. Which gets the job done surprisingly well.
The game has successfully created an "action/sim" for the special forces genre. If that makes any sense. The guns all feel real. The explosions rock. And capping a terrorist point blank in the face in a 4 foot by 4 foot stuffy staircase has never been as fun. Let me just say that an M4 to the face isn't pretty.
(Note: RS III runs on the Splinter Cell engine, making the lighting effects dramatic and realistic)
I'm sorry I just went entirely off topic. Please forgive me.

Goldeneye would own Halo anyday.
Btw, there are some more games for XBox that allows 16-player gaming.

Evil-i think only two can play ghost recon on xbxox at once so to do an lan hookup couldn't you only have 8 rather than 16. either way it would prolly be cool.

No, you can have for people on Ghost Recon XBOX. My friend has it and we've played with 3 people on it, that leaves a chance for 4 player.dude are you retarded? no seriously. halo is so much sweeter than goldeneye. i will gie goldeneye props for being the best in it's day but halo is way better. as for first player missoins on halo i think they get a little boring kind of fast but still whenevere you ahve 4 or more people it owns.

Edit: Mystic, I am going to have to side with Stevo on this one. Though Goldeneye was awesome for it's time, it is outdated. Comparing it to Halo is like comparing a scooter to a Harley.

In the same sense, Halo is a -great- game, I love it. The AI is great for 2 player Campaigns, fun gameplay there. The graphics are still nice even though the game has been out for a while. More importantly, there are some levels, Blood Gulch for Capture the Flag in particular, that are perfect for 16 player matches. If you have access to 4 X-Boxes/TVs and a hub, Halo is great. However, Golden Eye, and also in my eyes, Perfect Dark, are a classic piece of console FPS that will never get old. Once you learn how to throw remote mines and detonate them by smashing the A+B buttons together, you never forget that pleasure. Just like riding a bike.
My multiplayer character in Perfect Dark has a saved time of over 5 days of gaming on it. 5 x 24 hours. Think about it! The ability to add bots to fight against is an obvious advantage over Halo, not to knock Halo or anything. Your friends will eventually get sick of you losing them like pigeons on a telephone wire with the pistol, or smacking them silly with the RCP90 or the Mauler. The Challenge levels still have me stuck on the final level, after so many hours of playing them with my friends.
So, my point is that though obviously the technology has changed greatly in console FPS gaming over the past, what, 5 years- there are still some fun times to be had playing old school cartridges. Fun that can't be replaced by 16 flavours of colorful Master Chiefs running around on the screen with no jaggies. Can your Halo character be a secretary's body with a giant grey alien head? I think not.

As for Goldeneye, that game still kicks ass, we can still play it I'm sure. If Halo gets stale and we're running low on Dew, I bet Goldeneye would be perfect.
I agree with the bike-motorcycle analogy.

I can't beleive people use controlers for shooting games
Seems more sensible then controlling someone with 35 buttons. Halo is out for PC anyways.

Not really, the key is in the mouse. Nothing on a console controller gives you the same amount of control over your aim as a mouse does. It would be completely unfair if people on consoles were to play people on pcs in a fps. While you were trying to center your aim on someone's torso, the pc player would end up shooting you and half your team in the head.I can't beleive people use controlers for shooting games

Of course, if anyone played with my friend, 1v1 Slayer 5 for one game, just one, they'll just not play anymore... Yeah...
I think Goldeneye is overall better than Halo. Of course, its graphics aren't that good due to being on an older platform, and neither are the missions, but the gameplay, controls, and multiplayer all own Halo's.
Starsiege Tribes (1, 2, and AS) are also better than Halo, Tribes 1 was the best, it owned all other FPSs in multiplayer, especially with the ability to add on mods and get cool stuff like Interceptors flying at a bjillion mph.
