I was sitting around today, bored. There was nothing that prompted new and creative thoughts in my head, which is strange for me when I'm staring at a box of nerf parts. Anyways, I eventually started to think about different ways to propel a dart, besides compressed air or a plunger set-up. I then thought about the pen blaster, using just the force of something hitting the dart to propel it. After a little while of going through the tons of K'nex I had when I was younger, I had this.

It currently shoots this type of dart, but that will change when it is light out again.

I'll go into more detail about the catch. So, the plunger is simply a rod, and when you pull it back far enough, a little piece is forced by rubber bands to slide in front of it. The Plunger can now not move at all.
Here is a picture of the catch not catched.

I also added these little mini blasters on the sdie as back-up weapons.

And, finally, here is a video if you still don't understand what I'm talikng about.

Not bad man! Have you ever thought of using different material like good string for a draw string? Have you tested ranges? Good job using a new material for a gun!

I have a friend who did something like this, except ut wasn't a crossbow, it looked more like a pistol. Any way great job. That thing is awsome. Will you be posting a full write up?

Just because you can't see me doesn't mean I'm not there.

Impressive. I should do something like this. But first, could you go into detail about the basic mechanics, preferably in another post?
