Yeah, I know. Another nitefinder mod.
But I haven’t seen any detailed minimization mods around.
Soooo.
I decided to have my first writup on that.

Step 1
First, you get your NF and draw a line from the base of the yellow part to the light grey angle between the ammo holder and the trigger guard. Be sure to mark both sides.
Posted Image
Then you take your hacksaw and cut along the line you just made.
Posted Image
Then remove the screws, to disassemble the blaster.
Posted Image
Discard the smaller parts of the shell.
Step 2
Take out the plunger tube.
There will be about 4 pieces that make up the barrel assembly.
Take out these 2
Posted Imageand discard the others.
Then take the piece with the dart peg
Posted Image
and use your dremel or knife to remove the center, ending up like this.
Posted Image
Then take the air restrictor piece and make it like this.
Posted Image
Now, rough up the places where the two pieces meet.
Then glue them together with your favorite glue.
Posted Image
After that, wipe up the lubricant from the inside of the plunger tube where the barrel pieces fit on. Then rough up where the barrel piece meets the plunger tube and glue them together like this.
Posted Image
After that, take out your PVC coupler.
Then, you cut off the nub here.
Posted Image
If your coupler doesn’t fit over the lip of the barrel piece like this,
Posted Image
use a knife to shave down a bit of plastic from the inside of the coupler.
Once it fits, rough up the base of the coupler and where it will touch the barrel piece.
Then glue it up.
Posted Image

Please don't post for a minute

Step 3
The newer NFs seem to have two-piece plungers like this.
Posted Image
The screw supplied is rather short, so we will use a longer one.
First, mop up the lubricant from inside the plunger.
Then, put some hot glue inside the plunger. Carefully, place the plunger halves together, being sure to line up the nub with the notch.
Put the catch, then your spring(s) of choice on the plunger rod.
With the longer screw, attach the plunger to the rod.
If you have a long enough screw, it will protrude. Put some glue over the protruding end to give it more grip.
Posted Image
Then take some foam craft sheet and trace the plunger.
Posted Image
Cut out the circle.
Glue the craft sheet circle onto the end of the plunger. This will cushion the plunger from its impact with the barrel piece.
Now, you will need to widen the barrel hole.
Step 4
Now you are almost done.
First, trace around the coupler and cut out the hole.
Posted Image
Replace the catch spring if you think it necessary.
Then put the plunger in the plunger tube, and put them in place.
Squirt hot glue between the plunger tube and the shell near the coupler. Once it dries, it significantly aids the screws in holding the plunger tube in place.
Now take the top piece of the shell and apply lubricant where I have shaded.
Posted Image
Then screw together the two halves of the shell.
After this fill the gap between the shell pieces with hot glue.
Posted Image
This strengthens the frame for longer life.
Now, you have a couplered, minimized nitefinder.

Sweet- nice job!

I did the exact same thing, except minimized differently, and used PETG with e-tape.

Can you make your pics smaller though?

How did you minimize yours?

Yeah, I can try to shrink the pics.

Just the normal PPK, except I kept an extra screw hole because it really helps holding it together and keeping the barrel stable.

That looks like a lot of hotglue. Does it make the gun feel very front heavy? I've been thinking of doing this to my NF, but I havne't because of that big open space. Anyway, nice writeup.

Nice job, there was a PPK writeup a while back but this one has better pics and is easier to read. You would probably get berr ranges if you cut off the back half of the coupler.

I went into the choir room today and told the teacher," I can ony sing base" she said," I can fix that" she gave me a prompt kick in the nuts; i've been singing soprano ever since.

No, It weighs much less than the part you chopped off.

I'll review this and add it to the directory when the pics are smaller.

Does it help the range at all to put the bands in that pattern? Or was that just for looks?

It was stated that the bands help keep the case together.

Where did I say that? The shell is held together quite well with the screws and hot glue.
The bands just add a bit more range than the springs alone.
The pattern is just the best way I could find so that they won't fall off.

edit: The pics are smaller now. I love photobucket.

This strengthens the frame for longer life.

This was after the picture of the rubber bands... I assumed that it was about the bands and was taken out of context, sorry...
