Wldwrld and myself got it from the same company. If anyone wants his darts I would reccomend you get them now as the foam will be changing eventually. I also noticed it was a bit thinner but I think he just cooks his darts a bit longer.

I love your red foam, but where I play a brighter color would be better. I voted pink, just because pink would be extremely easy to find where I play. I would pay 35 cents for a foot, and voted summer, cause thats when I have the most time, especially to when paying attention to detail. I love your red foam, and I would love whatever kind of foam you choose. Thanks FA.

Oh, I know you didnt have it up, but blue would be a good color too.

I know it's been said, but red would have to be the best color. It catches your eye's attention, much like a stop sign does. The color may be old news, but I believe it's the most practical.

This is an insane contribution to the community, thanks in advance.

Just throwing in my two cents...Red is a great color for the dirt field with mounds I'm currently using, but white foam has been easier to spot in the grass (but snows coming soon and white will be out of the question). My yellow converted darts show up great anywhere. If you could find any bright/flourescent color it would be great, but my top choice would be pink. I'm not sure what constitutes a "shit-load" but I use about 20' of FBR a week, so I would probably be purchasing somewhere around 300-500 feet for the first batch and would like to pay $.25/foot though I guess I could go up to $.30/foot.

I think fluorescent orange would be an awesome colour, and I would pay $.35/foot if FA24 says it's worth it! I'm very lazy when it comes to finding my darts, so fluorescent orange would definitely help with the ease of spotting them. I would also be a regular customer because I would rather support the "fbr industry", than spend an hour searching for the darts MIA. My major modding season is the winter; Christmas brings me new guns/modding materials, and I tend to like being in my "laboratory" (listening to hardcore metal!) rather than being out in the sometimes harsh Canadian winter.

He's right. Orange is the most high visibility there is. Why do you think hunters cover themselves in orange? Because it is the most visible color [and they don't want to get shot by other hunters]. They can do this because deer are colorblind so it doesn't matter. Hasbro made their darts orange as well, I think because they too understand it is the best visibility, and with careless kids in mind, they made it that color so the kids would see the darts much easier. I'm sure if they, [the experts] knew that red was better visibility then orange they would have used it, for darts and hunters protection.

Oh man this takes me back. I still have a few hundred feet of pink foam in my closet back home from when I was selling it here about 3 years ago -- It ended up only costing about 3 cents a foot, which was awesome - but still not quite the density of our typically grey fbr - good luck with the special order. From my research I gathered that plenty of backer rod companies make the stuff in some type of red or green as flame retardant versions of the grey. They only problem with buying spooled backer rod is that the outer-most 4th is too thick, and the inner-most 4th is too thin, leaving you with about half of the foam being perfect for darts, and the rest being mostly worthless... sure does make darts easier to find though.

You could sell the crushed foam at reduced prices for silencing purposes.

I think this makes a lot of sense in case the spools you have still end up crushing the foam you purchase.
Make sure to sell at a good price, 35-50 cents/foot is very resaonable and helps you get your money back in a very good nerfing investment for the maker and the buyer.

If you do go through with it, make sure you have all the information you need that they do not end up screwing up the order in terms of colour, density etc... I remember Damage Control times! You definetly want to avoid that situation again.

Also, did the manufacture say you could preview the foam before they make the entire order?

I personally go with the Red as well. They have always been the best, regardless in Wars or Assassain games.

Hey Angel!
First I just want to thank you for all that you contribute to the NERFing community <insert butt-kissing smiley>. I'm wondering if there have been any developments in your quest for superior foam. I'm running dangerously low on foam and I'm wondering if I should just ride it out until you get your shipment in or if you anticipate that being a long ways off. Of course if you had any updates I'm sure you'd post them, I guess I'm just trying to keep this thread/project alive and let you know that a lot of us hoping for your success.

I was homeless for a week and without Internet for a little while. I still don't have internet. I am currently at an Internet cafe so I can check up on the place. The quest for the perfect foam does take time. After what shortshit told me 17 cents a foot is pretty expensive. If I could get it for 3 cents a foot. I would most likely sell it for 6 cents or something. Which is still pretty cheap compared to store prices per foot. The reason I would be upping the price is because I would have to do the packing as well and to make up for the useless foam that is no good.
I will be posting updates as soon as I know concrete facts.

Wow! If you could sell the stuff for anything less than $.10/foot I'd be in the market for around 1000'! Seriously. Hope you can find something that works out.

I said .25 a foot just to make costs easy to figure out. On the other hand, if this is as good as I think its going to be, I would pay more.
