I bought a rapid fire 20 last year cuz I thought it would be a sick addition to my arsenal. Right of of the box, I was not impressed. The rapid fire mode didn't work at all. It would fire one round and the white piece of plastic that turns the turret to the next round doesn't go back far enough to catch a new notch before the gun fires again. So all It does is shake all over the place and make a lot of noise. The single fire mode works though. But i can't hold down the trigger because it does the exact same thing the rapid fire mode did. So now I have to pull trigger hold it long enough for it to fire and quickly let go so it doesn't dry fire. and by doing that i can only fire of about 11 rounds before I'm out of air. So I decided the least I could do is open it up and plug that stupid pressure release valve. But OH NO!!! I can't get the freaking gun open! the stupid black fin on top wont freaking open up, it's even hack saw proof. plus half of my screws are stripped! So now I have this crap machine gun with saw marks on it, stripped screws, 20 extra darts, and its less practical than my maverick. And I'm 25 dollars short because of it.

Someone tell me there is a way to make this thing fire normally, PLEASE!!!

It's probably defective and if you hadn't attacked it with your hacksaw, you could've returned it for a new one.

I went into the choir room today and told the teacher," I can ony sing base" she said," I can fix that" she gave me a prompt kick in the nuts; i've been singing soprano ever since.

The RF20 seems to be one of the most problematic guns in our aresnals. It has the highest number of reports of "not working correctly" that I know of. It is also difficult to open without damaging the shell, stripping the screws, or losing your sanity. At most, you can get about 50-60 feet out of it with cost-effective barrel replacements. However, it still has value as a rapid-fire room-sweeper. If you get one that doesn't work, return it and get another. It is worth it. (I don't know how much good that does you, seeing as that was one year ago, though.) I would suggest cutting off the fin with a Dremel or a new hacksaw blade (your old one may have been worn out, or you might not have been cutting straight with enough force), as it serves no purpose. Here's everything you need to keep, courtesy of NerfMonkey:

Yeah, I agree with all the people who said you should of returned it. I bought one brand new, and out of the box it shot perfectly, all darts shot, and all went 25-30 feet, and both rapidfire and single fire modes work perfectly.

Same thing happened to me. Mine worked perfectly right away. I bought mine a very long time ago not knowing it was even a machine gun. I pulled it out of the box, pulled the trigger, and my jaw dropped in awe. Now, a few years later after dropping it down the stairs a couple of times, it still fires those bitches out of their barrels like there's no tommorow.

The chances of one person taking a bomb on a plane are one in a million. The chances of two people taking a bomb on a plane are one in a trillion. So if you're scared of a terrorist attack, bring a bomb on a plane.

...stripping the screws...

The RF20 and the Airtech line use screws that can only be safely removed or reinstalled with a #0 sized screwdriver. I suggest you look into buying one ($3). I haven't stripped a single screw since buying one.
For most other guns a #2 sized screwdriver works best.

The little critters of nature, they don't know that they're ugly. That's very funny, a fly marrying a bumble bee. I told you I'd shoot, but you didn't believe me. Why didn't you believe me?
