hey well me and my friends are going to start playing nerf. i actualy bought a maverick and tried modding it and of course it broke. (i hear that they suck pretty bad) and i actually thought it was a good stock gun bought im sure just about everyone would beg to differ. but what me and my friends are thinking that we want to get 4 vests with 4 guns. (the ones that shoot 10, or in other words the 40 dollar sets) 4 nite finers (just cause i hear there sweet) 2 big bad bows (idk i think they seemed kinda fun and there would be one for each team) and then maybe 1-2 big bad titans. now im sure a lot of people disagree with the titans but hey 80feet of range, i figure it would be sweet basically having a missle launcher. but tell me what you think of this set. I also wanted to know how hard it is to mod the nite finders. i am afraid that i myelf will break them so i might buy them from mod man. but the thing is as much as i hear that the homeade darts are sick. i dont plan on using them because they dont stick to the vests. so is it worth it that much to get the other darts? or would it be fine if i used a combination of both. I guess i dont understand if the regular darts will still shoot with the barrel posts out. I also want to know if its worth getting the vest or not. Thanks guys sorry this is so long

My personal opinion? Vests suck. If you want, use Stefans, you'll know when you're hit :)
And as for Nitefinders, they are actually pretty easy to mod. Mavericks don't suck, either, but again, this is just my personal opinion.

Big Bad Bows are great. Just cut off the barrels, take out the air restricters, and add some tubing you get great ranges. I say get 3 of those.

4 Nite finders, 2 Mavericks, and 1 pack 10 shooter dart Tag.

If you can afford it.

Nitefinders, easiest thing to mod. Big Blast/ Lbb's (Blast Bazooka's) come close.

The Maverick's keep stock, and the dart tag, just remove the air restrictors and add a rubber band. If you need help click the link in my signiture or PM me or pretty much anyone else.

Oh yeah:

Crossbows are the top of the line, Longshots are pretty ok, and the detonator probably sucks ass because you stomp on it.

well heres my conclusion since im short on money and the teams sofar are gonna be jsut 2 on two im settleing with this. each prson will have the dart tag (the gun and vest) as like there main gun. then ill buy two moded nite finders so one person on each tieam will have one and two BBB for losers. we are probally going to be playing capture the flag where we will set up bunkers and have a flag you have to retrive in the center of the field. thanks guys for the help

I would suggest you not purchase modded blasters on ebay because they bullshit the ranges a lot.
Stock darts do work without the barrel posts and I would also suggest you make your own stefans instead of purchasing them.

Please clean up your posts.

As for the topic of discussion: In agreement with bobafan here, DO NOT use eBay for Nerf, unless it's one of us that's selling. We have the most trustworthy (for the most part) salespeople on the net, and are more reasonably priced because we are a niche group that knows the value of these guns and supplies. Just buy the DTGs and NFs and mod them yourself or selves. It's a great way to gain familiarity with Nerf guns, and gives you more experience with modding in general. Also, I would buy the DTGs at Toys 'R' Us (what we abbreviate as TRU sometimes), as they usually stock a special kit with two spare bags of darts. Correct me if I'm wrong, people, but TRU is the only place that these are available. They are the same price as the standard DTG kit. Big Bad Bows can be found at Target. BBBs go for $20 each, NFs for about $7 each, and the DTGs for about $30-40 (I can't remember which) for a set of two. CPVC, your most likely barrel material, can be found at Home Depot and Lowe's for about $3-5 for ten feet. It can be cut with a dremel or hacksaw, and then epoxied or hot glued onto the guns by following one of our write-ups. Good luck with your war.

I'd recommend Big Salvos, they're cheap, effective, and excellent straight out of the box. Very versatile guns. But I've never been a big fan of the BBB.

NiteFinders are your best bet on the market right now as far as pistols go.

Also, if you can track down an AT3K two pack or two, those are also excellent with minimal modification. Look in Dollar General and places like that for those, I think they're $15 for two, but they can be hard to find sometimes.

Welcome to Nerfhaven.
