Why do you want either of them smaller in the first place? As for the answer, try to look at which is smaller in the first place.

This might be interesting. They both can be made smaller, the AT2k, can be made smaller than the AT3K. However, assuming your going to single either one. I'd go with AT3K. You can make it plenty small, and in my opinion the AT3K is much more comfortable.

AT2K has a smaller tank than the AT3K, but I don't know about the pump (the 3K's tank can fit in 11/4" PVC, except for the rim).

I'm pretty sure you can get both of them down to just about the same size. Their internals are nearly identical, the only noticeable difference is the pump size/shape.
