I was kind of busy at work today so I didn't get much accomplished except lathing all of my aluminum spacers to the dimensions needed.

Next-Day Edit: I have all of the parts cut out to size with the table saw and the templates are printed. Hopefully I will feel better tomorrow so I can make more progress.

The little critters of nature, they don't know that they're ugly. That's very funny, a fly marrying a bumble bee. I told you I'd shoot, but you didn't believe me. Why didn't you believe me?

Still sick. I've started machining parts and I'm more than halfway through but I've become too congested and miserable to make any more progress today.

First assembly is done.

I can't seem to find some of my flat blade drill bits to finish various pieces so I'll have to buy replacements. I'm also contemplating buying a router table so I can bevel the edges on the grip in a uniform manner.

Will you marry me?
Or at least continue making guns, that'd be just as swell.
But really, that looks beautiful, I'm really looking foward (as is the rest of NH) to seeing this masterpiece come together.

Do I see two layers of polycarbonate for the trigger guard of did you bend it somehow?
Also, Is that a lanyard loop on the base of the grip?

Lanyard loop/strap, yes.

This cold just won't go away. Now instead of being congested with a raw throat I have a fever and a splitting headache.
No progress until I can get the flat blade drill bit and have enough health to concentrate.

The whole grip assembly is a sandwich of flat sheets. The center with the trigger guard is two layers of 3/16" thickness and the next layer on each side is 1/4" thickness. The outer cover panels are 1/8" polycarbonate or PVC. All of the parts will be painted once the gun is complete.

Umm, I'm pretty sure he doesn't work on the gun on this thread, and I thought this thread was open to praise.
It's hard to contain yourself once looking at his progress, even the handle makes me drool.
Can you deny that?
But I guess several posts in a row saying
"Wow thats awesome I can't wait to see the finished product...."
Can get a bit annoying.

I think the clear pieces look cool, so people can kinda see how it goes together.
I dunno, just my opinion.

Sickness can go fuck a cactus. I hope you get well soon, CS.

It looks great. I'm hoping you don't run into any serious problems. This gun is going to be the holy grail of nerf when you get it working.

Good Luck and Great Job so far.

Fuck you, it already is the holy grail. We've just not fully obtained it yet.

Well, I'm probably going to regret this, but here's the one comment your going to get that offers advice, or at least a question.

...

Grip looks a little shallow. Was it made to be like that or was that a flaw in the design.

Other than that, it looks great Slug, keep up the excellent work, and get well soon.

Isn't the overall length a bit much for a pistol? Perhaps "carbine" is a more appropriate term, because an unfolded 28" is the same length as bolt's SCAR-N.

Other than that, the progress thus far is astounding. I really wish I had that kind of work ethic, as my own gun is nearing a year in development hell.

Grip looks a little shallow.

It fits my hand very well. It's dimensions are roughly based on the grip from the Maverick, only it's narrower at a maximum of 1" width.

Isn't the overall length a bit much for a pistol?

Yes, it is pretty huge for a "Pistol", but that moniker is a byproduct of the original concept which was 8 inches shorter.

The first test assembly is done. All of the vital components fit together perfectly after some expected adjustments. There are still a few parts I need to make, but I'm quite happy with the progress I've made today.

I almost drooled on my keyboard just now. How easily does the magazine slip out of the well? About the same resistance as in a standard LS?

It has a similar locking piece to the one in the longshot, but I also added a secondary lock system.
Right now it's very easy to remove, but I have not yet made the other side pieces that guide the magazine into place. Some small revisions on the magwell may be needed once those are in place.

FUCK. That is bitching. I'm really hoping to see it in action at Hell. I found the mag fit on the LS too snug, I prefer something where the mag will slide out without needing to pull on it.
