People are spamming their Kings of Chaos links. It's multi-level-marketing diguised as a game. It's a virus that infects people but is transmitted through the internet.

Hmmm... Sounds more than a little like Snow Crash.

Don't spend too much time on their site unless you have Zone Alarm installed. They installed something called vbounce on my system without asking and I didn't catch it until vbounce tried to access the internet.

Ugh. This is the next outwar. The only thing these games create is trouble. The point of the games is to get your army up, and it works like a hit counter. Just go into any chat room, there are tons of spam bots with the goddamn links. No offense to who posted this, it's just my opinion.

That isn't really spamming. Theres a topic that's titled "Kings Of Chaos" and it's in a forum titled "Off Topic" It's not like I'm going into an irc channel and flooding it with my link repeadedly, or going into a topic about nerf grenades and posting my link. And now that CXWQ has posted his opinion on KOC, I think it would be acceptable for people to post there links. Granted, saying "click here to go to the site, you should use my link" is a bit low. I would have just said, "here's my link if you want to join as my officer and help me out, and I'll watch your back."

How, pray tell, is posting your KoC link any different than someone posting a link to their viagra affiliate store?

In both cases, the poster is hoping to gain something from people clicking on the link. In both cases it's Off-Topic so you can't say one is more appropriate to this forum than the other.

If you're really passionate about how great the game is then why don't you write a decent post about what the game is like and why you enjoy playing it and link to the main page instead of your page? People might respect you just a little bit.

My 'opinion' is that I'll delete any affiliate links posted on my boards. If you do it repeatedly I'll nuke your account.
