Location

The University at Buffalo Strategists and Role-Players' Association is holding a Nerf war at MiniCon, their annual mini-convention. The details are still being worked out, but it will be late in the evening, running from around eight until everyone gets tired. (Our last war was about five hours).

We're still working on the details, but we will hopefully have full use of the Student Union building. If not, we'll be running in Baldy Hall. We're expecting a lot of people – our last war had over fifty attendees, and we didn't advertise it here.

We'll probably do a variety of formats. Last time, we mostly did team games, especially CTF. We'll probably do some slayer-type stuff later on when we have fewer people. We haven't set rules for guns; last time, "anything that can shoot through a box of Cheez-its" was banned. Bring your singled Titans just in case, but be careful around the n00bs. We don't want to scare them off yet.

MiniCon will be running all day on the 27th. There will be anime showings and all sorts of gaming events, from RPGs to card games to LARPs to a possible Settlers of Catan marathon. There will be a small (~$5) admission fee; all proceeds will go to a to-be-determined charity. Last year we donated the proceeds to Buffalo Children's Hospital. This year's theme is Zombie Pirates Versus Alien Ninjas, so feel free to bring a costume. If you're a gamer or anime fan, of you know one, come early in the day for all of the events.

I may have a full "team" of folks that may come. Probably 10-20 people? We're all LARPers and we just did an RPG with Zombies and nerf [and swords] last weekend so now we want to play for real. =)

Not sure yet, but there will be a bunch of us.

That would be amazingly awesome. Pure foam swords will probably be okay, but unfortunately not stiff-framed boffers.

Yes, we have a KB at the local mall. They were out of stock for a month before the last war with everyone buying them, so this year I'm getting mine early.

It would be pretty cool to get a bunch of us guys from UC to come up and show you guys who's boss... but it's pretty far lol. We'll see.
