PETG. The friction is awesome, and it's easy to mod with. Plus, it isn't as heavy.

I have one more question, can the brass/cpvc be substituted for PETG. I'm almost certain the answer is yes but i just wanted to check.

It really depends on your darts and gun. Read this. Brass has multiple sizes, so it might work or not for you, while CPVC is very tight. OMC's PETG is usually a medium fit on darts, but yours might be different.

For maximum efficiency?

1. Pump up. Count how many pumps.

2. Keep going until you hear a loud "bang".

3. Subtract one pump from the total. Rebuild your air bladder.

There you go.

What the hell? You don't want friction. Both are easy to use, as long as you have the right tools. PETG is cheaper.

You might actually want it, for a springer (so that it can build up power- this is the idea behind nested brass barrels).

Also, I think he meant there wasn't much friction.

It depends on your darts. Order both and try them out.

Brass

Pros:
1. Sizes are available in 1/32" increments, making dart fitting easy.
2. The ultimate breach material due to incremental sizes forming an airtight (or very close to it) seal and nesting perfectly.

Cons:
1. Slightly heavier.
2. Very expensive compared to other materials (depending on where you get it from).
3. Hard to cut perfectly without a Dremel, because hacksaws can deform the surface slightly.
4. It's a soft metal, and easy to deform with pressure (as in dropping small objects and pipe sections on it).
5. It is not very easy to find apart from the internet.

PETG: (Note, I have never used this material, as I rely completely on brass, but it has several shining reviews from key members like Forsaken_Angel24.)

Pros:
1. Lighter.
2. Clear (helps to tell if a dart is loaded).
3. Offers a great fit on darts, particularly those made from F_A24's red FBR.
4. Cheaper.

Cons:
1. More difficult to use in a breach.
2. It must be ordered off the internet, as there are no stores (that I have heard mentioned) that carry it.
3. Thicker.

If I think of more, I will update.

How airtight is the seal? The other problem with PVC, CPVC, and PETG breaches are that they are bulkier than brass ones, and the added weight and consumed space is unneccessary.

I love using PETG because it's cheap, light, durable, and very easy to glue. It seems to work best in spring guns, and the darts I make fit perfectly in it.
The only other materials I tend to use are 1/2" SCH80 CPVC or Aluminum. Both of which I tend to prefer using for air powered guns.

Admittedly, I personally HATE brass. It's a pain to work with, difficult to cut, and tarnishes quickly. I've stopped using it altogether in favor of the other materials I've listed.

No it does not make an airtight seal. The outer diameter of OMC's PETG is around .572" where-as the inner diamters of 1/4" SCH40 PVC is around .604". That gives you around 1/64th" of a gap inbetween the two when the PETG is inserted into the PVC pipe.
PETG won't really nest inside anything easily, so you would have to add tape. I have made some interference couplers for it by drilling 9/16" holes though.

Only if you plan on slamming the barrels of your guns into concrete. Polycarbonate is a little too excessive for the nerf realm, in my opinion. You might as well just get PETG.

I find brass a bit more reliable than PETG, mainly because it won't bend or break as easily as brass does.
