I was looking a roun the house for a good spring, Ihad been looking at hardware stores and every thing. I couldnt find a good spring anywhere. So i got pissed and decided to go take a long hard crap to thing it over, so i pulled out my tom calancy books and started reading...(an hour and a half later). i finished up and looked to the right for some toilet paper and the whole roll was gone!. Obscenity!

I grabbed the roll holder and threw it across the bathroom (all 5' of it) and LOW AND BEHOLD a beautiful sring bounced out. hooray!!! I ran downstairs grabbed the toilet paper and you propably dont want to know the rest. All you need to know is that i put the spring in my *unmodded NF allong with the original and got 50 ft flat. It was a miracle!

I told you that to tell you this. Handyman springs = sh!t, Toilet paper roll holder = A GOD GIVEN GIFT

Heed my words i dont care whether its yours, your friends, your parents, or your churches. Take the spring and blame it on someone else. YOU WONT REGRET IT

P.S my dad still doesnt know its gone hee heee hee

Hmm... I noticed this with mine aswell, but I doubt the spring is powerful enough to propel a plunger.

You added this to your NF, I'm supposing...
Does it add significant range difference to normal?
If it does, I may be able to show a difference between normal NF and the TP spring (double barreled NF).

Please, for the love of NH, don't ever give us this much information again. Ever. I'm not joking.

As for the spring, no. It isn't powerful like you want us to believe. Handyman springs are more powerful and are the better way to go, because I don't want to reach for toilet paper and realize that it's not there since I destroyed the holder to give an NF mediocre ranges.

(Both with NF taped down with packing tape five ft off the ground)
Original ranges
25'
18'
20'
23'

After spring addition
55'
47'
50'
56'

It is a very good spring. all those ranges were without ars removed or rubber bands added

Thanks to you I now have a large barf-stain on my carpet. Thank you for that. Anyways, could you show us a picture of the spring compared to a normal NF spring? Somehow I don't think that a weak little spring like the ones in most toilet paper holders are rather weak. Pics would be great.

I find this doubtful. Why would anyone that manufactures toilet paper springs want to make a really powerful spring in it? Theres no need to. I also don't believe you ranges either.

My cameras broke. But in case you were wondering, im using stefans. I dont know how much that effects the ranges. Anyhoo, the spring is a higher gauge than stock nf but it was originaly an inch longer than the nf so i clipped about a half inch with wire cutters. For some reason, the front of the gun is starting to break off so im gunna have to work on it a little. Oh well , im sorry for the skeptics. All i can say is to try it out.

Not good. We need pictures. That, and I thought you didn't remove the ARs, which would mean that you can't use stefans. Unless they're CDTSs. Until you can post pictures, give us the gauge, length, diameters, and any other information, because this is on very thin ground right now.

Nf spring compared to the Toliet Paper Holder spring, to a Maverick spring.
I used a semi-clear plastic TP holder that is Charmin, not too powerful.
And also, how do you guys get the Handman spring to work? I have 9713 in my NF and it won't catch, its all glued down.
If you know the above question, then PM me instead of hijacking the thread more.

keef, maybe the spring you got was the wrong one with too big of a gauge?

Anyways, I knew that spring wasn't all that powerful.

It also seems like alot of people trying to claim something that sounds unreal have suddenly "broken" their cameras... hmm.

I guess you have some heavy duty industrial strength toilet paper holders. Do they advise you to wear eye protection when changing rolls?

I told you that to tell you this. Handyman springs = sh!t, Toilet paper roll holder = A GOD GIVEN GIFT

I bet you could get better ranges with the Handyman spring than with the 2 springs combined.

And also, how do you guys get the Handman spring to work? I have 9713 in my NF and it won't catch, its all glued down.

I have no idea how everyone is breaking their guns with that spring. I have it in 2 of my Nitefinders. One of them has no reinforcement other than some craft foam on the front of the plunger head. The other I never use, but I jokingly put a small bungee, paired with the Handyman spring already in it, and shot it off a few times. The catch holds up perfectly fine. Nothing has ever broken on me and I've never had the catch fail. Oh, and the NF with the craft foam on the end was cut down too, if that makes a difference.
How does it not catch? Like, does the plunger rod not go far enough back? Or can the catch not hold it?

And, like SHA said, if your Nitefinder was unmodded, how'd you manage to cram Stefans down the barrel?

It's difficult to fight the temptation to sig that.

Either way, cobain has left NerfHaven, so it's doubtful if we'll ever get any answers from him. As for the spring, I completely reinforced my NF, so that it now has more metal plating than an M1A1 Abrams Main Battle Tank, and it seems completely fine now. Maybe our NFs were just cursed.

This thread is quite amusing, no doubt. But I also must agree with the OP here on the topic of toilet paper holder springs. The spring in my toilet paper holder is the exact gauge and length of a regular BBB spring, but it has the diameter of a NF spring. It has worked well in my NF and given me similar ranges of about 50 to 55 feet flat. Who knew that toilet paper holders were so powerful?

I can make a video if you want to show you, but the plunger seems like it doesn't even try to catch. Cobain left because he is a little 5 year old that lies about toliet springs, so this topic is good for really nothing else except laughs.

Has anyone tried putting the handyman spring with the toilet paper spring yet. That would probally be better than anything else.

Of course, there's also a certain point past which your NF will either be too hard to cock or will explode violently. ^_^

Has anyone tried replacing their TP holder's spring with a handyman? That would be really cool.
