I've read this before, but I've always wondered:

They actually confiscated the nerf guns? Are they even allowed to do that? I don't care about the police breaking down one of my local wars, but I will not stand for them taking my guns. They're worth a fortune to me sentimentally, and somewhat financially. Anybody know more about this?

That's exactly what I was thinking when I first read this article, it seems a tad over the top to confiscate them.

Anyway, I have a soft spot for this article cause it really is what actually got me thinking of the concept of having real "wars" and such. Glad to know everyones read it.

From my small understanding of law ( and I mean small), I don't think that the cops have the right to take the guns with out probable cause that more harm will come than good. But I'm not sure, next time I talk to my dective friend I'll ask him about it and what his views are. But I personally feel that the cops did to make themselves feel more important or mentally increase their penis size from harrasing (sp?) teenagers who are trying to have some fun. But in there defense I can see where people running around in their underwear could be a tad disturbing.

Out of all the outcomes of nerf wars, the teamwork really shows. I am going into a school with orginized wars as a mercinary. (my friend is going so I'm helping him) and Its really stupid to see police overreacting so much. Their flippin toys. You don't see the police cracking down on spitwad .22 rifle fights. (Apperently people do this) But yet cops are so concerded about toys. Its not like they look terribly realistic. Have you ever seen a bright purple rifle?

Na, I'm goin' to Cincinatti next week and thought it would be fun to nerf military style. I would start something like this, but I have neither time nor budget. If I could get funding, tthen I would start a war-game, but I don't know who would give me money.
