When making stefans, part of the process is to put the FBR pieces into the dryer to harden them. Will it help if I do that stock Micro Darts?

P.S. I searched and checked the stickies in both the Homemade forums and the Modifications forums and couldn't find anything about this, so don't flame about that.

I guess you have some heavy duty industrial strength toilet paper holders. Do they advise you to wear eye protection when changing rolls?

I have never heard of putting FBR into the dryer to harden it but putting the FBR in the dryer does straighten the foam so you can make quuality darts. So to answer your question no I don't think putting the stock micros in the dryer would have much, if any, affect on the darts' performance.

Can you toss 1 dart in the drier to see for yourself?
Then post the results here when you're done.

No! Don't do this! Have you every seen a little warning in the dryer, telling you not to put flammable materials in it? Stock dart tips are rubber; rubber is flammable! I'm not sure about the safety of drying foam, but people do it all the time, so it's probably okay.

I'm sorry if I seemed rude, but it's a really bad idea.

No it's not. Rubber melts, but it won't burn. How long do you thing I should put 1 dart in for?

Oh, sorry. The melting rubber will probably fuck up your dryer, though. If you want to go through with this, I recommend pulling the tip off, heating the foam and putting the tip back on.

Why would you want to straighten a stock dart? The only reason people put FBR in the drier is because it comes on a coil and needs to be straightened; unless you get your stock micros off a coil I see no need to put them in the drier.

In deed rubber is flamable. I start campfires with rubber floor mats from a car. Its a very bad idea to dry rubber in the dryer.

I edited this post for gramar mistakes. Im sorry OMC.

This won't do what you think it will. As mentioned before, drying the foam in a dryer only straightens it (in short lengths). The foam does not change noticeably in any other way, and it will be a waste of time and electricity to try. (Also, you would melt the foam before you melted the rubber, so there's no point in doing anything to the stock head.)

Putting it in the dryer will fatten the foam.

No, as has been said in multiple posts on this very topic already, it just straightens FBR when making darts at home. [No fattening] I also have two dryers, a very crapy one that is never used and one that is acually used. I put a stock suction dart in a pillow case, tied the case with rope, then put the dart in for 10 minutes on medium heat. I opened the dryer to an erid smell of melted rubber. [yummy...] It was just nasty.. I wouldn't recommend trying this if you have a favorite pillow case and a lack of Oust cans...

P.S. I don't know what happened with the foam of the dart because it was covered in melted rubber thus I didn't really want to touch it. I looked as straight as before, don't know about the hardness but it shouldn't have changed.

Well, actually when I put my stock micros and taggers they didn't appear thicker, but they definitely fit in the barrels better.

I say put a whole bunch in the drier and see what happens-it's not like something bad will happen anyway.
