I don't know (I've never used the handyman springs), but you can find out more here.
Ok thanks.I searched that that thread already.I tried cutting my spring with needle nose pliers. The pliers broke and one piece flew at such awesome speed that it hit my new goggles and managed to pierce through it.The piece of metal is now in the middle of the plastic...
Now i just need to know how to cut down a spring without inflicting myself serious injuries.

With a Dremel or a smallish bolt cutter. Now i just need to know how to cut down a spring without inflicting myself serious injuries.
Glad to hear you were wearing safety glasses, and that you didn't get caught elsewhere on your face.

Otherwise I cut my springs down with either a hack saw with a metal cutting blade, and the spring in a vise, or I use a jigsaw with a diamond tipped blade, and again the spring in a vise.

Ok the dremel was working for a minute then it just stopped cutting for some reason.
What bit were you using? A cutting wheel or grinding wheel has worked perfectly for me in the past - make sure you are using a bit designed to cut metal.
