So lately I had some plans to mod + minimize the Firefly by removing the ARs and cutting down the whole ammo holder section. I was seriously considering the mod...until I fired it for the first time in about a week. It was absolutely awful, getting literally 10' flat. Obviously I don't want to waste my time on a gun that will be crappy no matter what I do. So here's my question: Is my FF defective or are they all pieces of crap?

They all suck. Don't bother. They're just like oversized Mavericks. The only reason I like what's left of mine ( The shell) is that it is very comfy, more so than the Xbow's stock, which is just my opinion. There's also plenty of room for an integration of an AT3K or 2K.

I don't really undestand why General Cole is making articles of clothing with my name on it. First it frightened me, but after a few hours I got over it. It seems obvious that General Cole is hoping to have sex with me.

They don't suck! I rock backyard wars with mine, which gets over 50'. I dunno whats up with yours though, How does cocking it feel? Is it jerky at all? What type of sound does it make when fired? I would guess that there is probably a problem with the turret\plunger seal, which is the most iffy part of the gun.

That was just my opinion. If you like it and can use it efficiently, great. I've just never been a big fan of them. Again, just my opinion.

They are WORSE than mavericks. Your gun is not defective! I hate the Fire Fly. If you have one that doesn't stink, your lucky!

A properly modded firefly is enough to kick ass.

I hit in the high 50's with stefans. Eight shots with a high rate of fire--I don't see how they suck.

Are you comparing the Firefly to xbows or something?

Anyways, to Coodude, what kind of darts/barrels are you using? I find that the stock firefly barrels are extremely large. If you're using skinny stefans or even stock darts, they will have really bad range. An upgrade to Brass, PETG, or CPVC would boost your range a lot. I am using 1/2" CPVC that has a good fit on my darts--a little snug but not insanely tight. I remember some guy had his barrels way too tight and the dart didn't even leave the barrel. I think Crayolas would work out pretty well too.

The firefly really does suck. Mine will drop down my 8 foot hallway. It is really a bad gun And I pity those who actually bought it. Plus, the idiots at harbro forgot a screw in the end of the plunger and it breaks alot for my. A WARNING TO ALL!!!!! DON'T BUY A FIREFLY!!!!!!! they are way to expensive to be that bad. If you really want something like that, buy a maverick. Cheap and and fairly nice.

i was actually given a firefly from my neighbor nextdoor... he left it in his parents trunk the whole time so i figured heat made it crappy... after i took out the air restrictors it got about 20-30 feet tops. before i was lucky to get 10 feet.

Too bad all you fireflys are tards... Mavs and fireflys are great with homemade streamlines.

This is a little off topic, but I'd like to know.

In the Fire-Fly shell, how wide is the section where the plunger-tube is?

If you've left the darts in your FF for more than a week, they will definitely suck. Just get some new darts and it will be fine.

The same thing happens to all new guns that have a slightly smaller barrel ID toward the back of the barrel (maverick, firefly, NF, etc.) If you leave the darts in there for too long, they will get loose in the barrels and will not fire.
