I stumbled upon this thing while surfing the web for something completely different.

It appears to be another "safer", low tech and less messy version of paintball. Judging from the descriptions on the website, the ammo are 19mm (~ 3/4") puffballs that stick to hook/loop velcro targets (on the body or otherwise).
The 'blaster' is powered by surgical tubing (slingshot-esque) and is similar in principal to some homemades I've seen on this site.

Anyone had any experience with it? I'm intrigued about the possibility of modifying the blaster (e.g. add a plunger) to shoot darts/stefans and/or use the ammo for Nerf blasters (e.g. obviously with larger ID barrels than typically used). I'm a little skeptical of whether the ammo would have the correct weight or be able to provide a good airseal but its hard to say just from looking. The prospect of spherical but soft ammo is something that I find appealing (for gravity-fed hoppers/clips) and, if I recall, was also the impetus for a post by Tidge a long time ago. I never did hear whether or not he got a chance to try any of the ideas out.

Looks funky but on the topic of modding them into dart shooters it's really hard to tell because there aren't any good pictures of the gun.

When I asked a french guy from Quebec if he knew what paintball was he linked me to a tagball arena. Doesn't seem like it has much potential.

My friend has these, and they can shoot, without modification, taggers and stephans. Hell, you can even shoot a AA battery out of it. It's basically a slingshot (NOT a nerf slingshot) with a trigger. It flings the ammo with about the same force as a well modded Nitefinder. They are pretty cool, but my friend never showed me how well the original tag-balls work. I think that he said they can go 50 ft flat.

I saw those in an old cabelas catalog. I considered getting them but eventually decided against it, I remember it being rather pricey. What really drew me in was how the kids in the ad looked like ninjas...

That's all well and good, but what is the accuracy? There's no point in slinging something for 60+ feet if it won't hit its target.

whether its slingshots or NERF, we all know its often the ammo - not the launcher - that determines accuracy.
In any case, if the ammo is indeed less than ideal, a trigger-style slingshot that can launch crappy ammo 50 feet might have some mod potential for shooting nerf darts/stefans.

Is this like a normal slingshot, or more like the Uruk-Hai Crossbow? Because your average slingshot is designed for round projectiles. A dart would just spin out (I think).

With a tagger dart, from 20 feet, he hit a small Mag-light. With the tag-ball magazine thing still on, it works as a fore-grip. The darts don't spin out at all. You can shoot whatever fits in the tube, some better than others. But I know that It works well with taggers. The only darts that don't work with it are the "Sonic" micros and Suction cup micros. They both get stuck when you shoot it. It crushes the dart pretty well.

I would like to note that those tagball arenas aren't those tagball guns. They are paintball guns modified to shoot rubber balls.

Back on topic, I think it would be better to just buy a NF or TTG or some other Nerf gun.

BUY IT!!! I'm the "friend" of DarkInfection and it is the best gun ever!!! I got one about a year and a half before I got into nerf. The tagballs work great in it and it is a lot of fun. But put a nerf dart in it and it rules! It out shoots any nerf gun, with the exeption of a titan and lazer tag gun. It shoots about 120ft angled and will easily go 70ft flat. It costs 25 bucks so it comes with a price but its worth every penny. It is exactly like a slingshot but with a foot long barrel at the end. If you add more rubberbands to the original "powerbands" it comes with you will add more distance. Like DarkInfection said there is no modification nessesary and shoot's anything that fits down the barrel, " 3/4 of an inch. It makes an awesome primary. Last It works with stefan and stock darts. But for stock darts I would not recomend whistlers and sucky tip darts. Its supper accurate with taggers, and has a sight on the top that is accurate with taggers for about 45 ft. I'll just keep rambling on about how great this gun is so I'll stop right now. BUY IT!!

Go here it shows you everything you need to know. http://tagball.net/

Also check Youtube there's a bunch of home movies with the tagball gun

Um, 70 feet does not "out shoot any nerf gun, with the exeption of a titan and lazer tag gun". Even a NF can hit 70. That's a short-medium range.

I have yet to see a NF shoot 70ft flat with a stock dart. And I guess I mean out shoot any gun that shoots a stock dart. With the exeption of Lazertag and Titan.

Lazertag? I don't think I've ever heard of a "Lazertag" nerf gun.

And yeah, a well modded NF (barrel replacement, seal improvement, stronger spring) with stefans can hit 70 ft, though I would call it more of a long-medium range. However, it wouldn't be able to do it with stock darts.

For maximum efficiency?

1. Pump up. Count how many pumps.

2. Keep going until you hear a loud "bang".

3. Subtract one pump from the total. Rebuild your air bladder.

There you go.

$25 for an equivalent of a modified NF doesn't strike me as a spectacular deal.

Holy Sh** !!! Are you guys serious or bluffing. I have a maxed out BBB and NF and they only get 50ft flat. You realize "flat" as in no angle right. Mabey Im just dumb or dont just dont have it right. But still 120ft at an angle with stock thats somthing.

No, those ranges are not extraordinary, and we're using the same definition of flat.

I got 85 flat off of my Lock n' Load using stock darts. Shooting a stock dart at a wall from 15 feet with it destroys the dart.

Did it break the next second? Sorry but its hard to believe that you can get 85' flat with a LnL. Video might help.

added that hilarious quote to my signature, while playing with my butthole!

On Topic-A modded NF can get very high ranges, and, although the Tagball gun has potential, they are selling them for 42 bucks. Not worth it for a pistol.

Hey, wouldn't these be really easy to slap onto a reasonably sized Nerf gun and used as a sort of airsoft-style grenade launcher? Just sort of a cheapo* integration thing? You could stuff the barrel with as many stefans as you could cram and let them loose when needed.

*By cheapo I don't mean cheap to buy, but cheap to integrate.

It looks to me as if these have no purpose. For $7, I can get a Nite Finder and hit 70+ feet. For $15, I can get a Max Shot and hit 130+ feet. For $30, I can get a Longshot and hit 100+ feet with an awesome rate of fire. These are all cheaper options than a $42 "Tagball" gun that only hits 70 feet. They are all better options. Therefore, Tagball guns are not a reasonable option for the average Nerfer, and will not appear in many arsenals.
