YAY I just got my RFR in LA during my vacation(I am still in LA). I find the clip a little hard to get out, I would need two hands to get it out. SO, I think I would need a strap. I know how to make one(well I am just going to use some fugly ropes...). But where should I put it without having to drill holes on the RFR?

Need opinions Thanks.

PS. I only got one RFR. I heard that some parts have the tendency to break, like the catch. Would I need to use epoxy and sheet metal to reinforce it, just in case? If I DO need to prevent it from breaking, what parts do I need to reinforce, IE what else would have the tendency the break. Please explain the me what the part does and where it's located. Just to let you know, I have no idea what and where the plunger catch is.

YES!!!! OMFG!!! You really need to reinforce the catch... i just took some sheet metal and incased the entire thing. And yes i suggest epoxy because even Gorilla Glue didn't hold.

For the strap drill a hole in the stock and then drill a whole in the front grip a few inches away from the barrel. If you have hooks or something like that put them in the holes and glue around the hook or what ever you use. To reinforce the gun take the spring off the rod then basically wrap the plunger rod in metal and take some one elses advice for the catch. The worst thing you can do is not reinforce the gun. I should know, mine broke because of the plunger rod being weak.

Why a strap when you could duct tape it to youe chest? I mean, no fumbling with the crappy thing when its always within reach to shoot the fools? But acctually, why use fugly ropes when you could make a strap out of duct tape. Take 2 pieces and put them sticky side at each other. Then, put e tape over the edges. It looks really cool because you can use colors. Its really cheap and easy to fix and its damned comfortable. Much more than rope.

Oh yeah I forgot the Duct Tape Strap idea.
And where do I reinforce in the RFR? I have no idea where the "plunger, catch" is. Please give me a tutorial preferably with pictures. Where do I get sheel metal? I know I can get epoxy in lowes, but do they offer sheet metal in lowes too? I can't do it right now, because I am out of town...

You guys got any good ideas for the ammo holster? I plan on getting either extra clips + shells + darts and just shells + darts.

Thanks.

My friend, the best thing to do is to open things up yourself and see how things work - then you should be able to figure out what people are referring to when they refer to a "catch".

There are already some pics of the guts of this blaster. Look at the orange thing at the right of the 2nd last pic.
That's the part that 'catches' the plunger when you cock it.

That said, I haven't ever had an RFR (I have 3) break on me, though admittedly, I don't use them much anymore.

In terms of straps/ammo holders, the duct tape method is okay but looks pretty ghetto. Go steal the shoulder strap of your sister's gym bag and clip it onto the some zipties installed somewhere at the rear and front of the blaster. Again, you can experiment to see which positions you like best. If you're creative, you should easily be able to turn your strap into an ammo holder/bandolier.

OK. Do I wrap sheet metal around the WHOLE ORANGE THING? Or the WHOLE black rod? If neither, where should I do it? I am very gentle with the RFR. I pull the lever JUST far enough so the shell would be loaded. Is there a good chance that it'll break even though I am VERY VERY gentle?
I think i will go with the duct tape idea of the strap, eh I'll come up with something . And when I'm modifying the shells, how do I take off the air restrictors if I want to fire stock rounds? Do I just drill out the bottom piece and take the black rings out?

Thanks

I found the perfect nerf strap at ax man if anyone lives near one. It has the standard legth for a strap and it was intended for a shotgun so it has ajustable loops to put nerf darts in. Its really nice.

Link.
One quick Google search, thousands of results.

If you're looking for a local store where you could pick one up, I've heard of people getting them from Walmart.

You can get them off Ebay or Amazon, but they are ridiculously super expensive...
You can get them in Canada Walmarts, US KB Toys and Kmart. I think that's all. I got mine at a KB Toy Store in Los Angeles. Where do you live? Contact their local stores. ;)

Yeah, I even saw some in a Wal Mart up here in Canada. That is, of course, after I buy mine for more at TRU.

Yeah, I`ve heard some GTA walmarts have them, but the more isolated ones, especially in central Ontario, only carry Nerf.

Lucky! My local Wal Mart only carries Buzz Bee. And the Toys R Us near me only sells Buzz Bee and AT3K twin packs. I have to go a long way to see anything else Nerf.

But back on the actual topic, why can't you just loop one end of some nylon rope around the barrel, and another around the handle/stock? If you really want, you could duct tape that up all fancy, too.
