Is e-tape on the plunger head more effective than the original single O-ring? If so, how much more effective is it and how many layers of e-tape should I put? Please and thank you.

I would avoid e-tape on something like the plunger. The adhesive will get all up in there an probably hinder performance. A better option would be to use Teflon tape. I have not done this myself, but I know I just saw a mod on here that used it. Teflon does not have a sticky coating that will get on everything and can be pulled much tighter.
FYI, e-tape + heat (especially Southern California heat) = recipe for disaster.

I second what OMC said. MY LnL has gotten a ton of e-tape goo in the plunger. The only reason I use it because it's the only way the gun will work.

Teflon tape is this usually white coloured thin tape you can find at a hardware store in the plumbing aisle. It is used to keep things air tight, such as putting the teflon tape on the threads of a pipe and screwing it onto another pipe to keep any water (in this case air) from leaking out.

I recommend using Guardsman's Goof-Off to remove any E-tape residue and then rinsing out the plunger tube before using some silicone lubricant and putting the plunger in. This keeps the plunger tube clean and improves performance.

I actually think E-tape is fine if you put it under the O-ring. My best NF has two-ish layers of E-tape under the O-ring. This pushes the O-ring into the PC and betters the seal.
If you want to substitute it for an O-ring, then I could see problems with the adhesive -- in which case I would agree with everybody else.

e tape for a plunger is to thick. Yoou need only one wrap around and it doesn't stick if you do only one so go with teflon tape. I use it on all my plungers right away.

I put like 4 layers of E-tape on mine At first pulling it back felt kinda jumpy but that was fixed with lube. I don't know how much of a difference it makes cause I also put on a new barrel.
