What web editors do you all use. I've done some stuff hard code but am never happy with the results. I've used friends Dreamweaver cd's and got great results from that, but for 300 bucks, of course you would. So what do you guys use.

If you have the money, Dreamweaver and Fireworks are great(macromedia). I dont have them, but ive used em. GolIve is hard to learn, but you make some cool stuff iwth it. FrontPage is awful. Windows PageMaker Professional or sumin like that is a free download and is pretty good.

umm have you ever actually made a real big web page, cuz if you just use html code it is tedious as hell? i learned with notepad to learn basic html coding so i can use it in other programs but solely using it is kind of err.. retarded. i guess it depends on the kind of web pages you're making. whatever, each to his own.

Top 5 list of web editors:

5.

4.

3.

2. Notepad (any small text editor will do)

1. Dreamweaver

If you're a university student, you should be able to get Dreamweaver student edition (fully functional) for about $80 at your campus computer store. If you're not a university student, you should be able to do the same - if they give you shit about student ID, find a cute girl in the English textbooks section to buy it for you. She'll be impressed by your computer savvy and you may be able to score more than just a web editor.

The people at BCC use edit plus. I haven't really used it yet because I'm doing hard core comp sci, but it looks like you can use it to edit any kind of language imaginable. You select what you're using, and it highlights the keywords and makes the comments green etc. I think it may help debugging too. It just won't compile anything other than java.

For www.LGLF.tk I use Dreamweaver. It's really good if your service provider allows FTP acess. Before Geo-wang took it away, I could just modify the site on my computer and update everything real quick from inside Dreamweaver.

fireworks is the worst macromedia program ever made. don't even try using it...it blows hardcore.

Wrong answer.

You don't know how to use it.

Regardless, you can take a look at some products of hard code and Photoshop working in tandem: http://newradicals.net , http://emayhem.org

Cheers, mate.

Fireworks is good. I'm working on making my own personal site using it, and it's been very helpful. I've only got parts done at the moment, though, so maybe I'll present it at some other time.

I've made plenty of large websites on just notepad. Hell, I've made ALL of my websites (except 1) on notepad.

Damn straight, man! I've used editors before, but I just feel like I have so much more control with HTML.
