Instead of filling the tip with hot glue, will I get the same results if I fill the dart with hot glue through the hole in the back of the dart?

It would no longer be tip heavy, so it wouldn't fly very well. I think it would fishtail. It would also have too much weight.

I was thinking that, but I was just making sure. So I guess filling the tip with hot glue is the way to go.

Dude you're talking about filling a dart with hotglue. Take the 30 seconds and just do it. In the time it took you to make this thread you could have just tried this out and gotten your answer.

If more people just got up and did some of the things they ask about, we'd have a forum with the topics filled with REAL challenges and not just redundant hypotheticalizations and asking of others to do what they can do themselves.
Sacrifice a dart, a blaster, or something. The best way to find out if something works or not is to try it yourself.
