Well, I made this mod because I was bored, and the lack of a mod in the directory. For those of you that don't have this discontinued gun, it is a missile launcher with tremendous air output utilizing a ratcheting spring system for power. This is my first mod write-up, so please bear with me.

Tools:
Sandpaper or a Dremel with sanding bit
Hot glue gun
2 feet of Sch 40 or 80 PVC
Paperclip
1 1/2" PVC Coupler
1 1/2" - 1" PVC reducer bushing
1" - 1/2" PVC reducer bushing

Here is the gun, stock, in comparison to a yardstick. It is just about 29" long.

You don't need to open the gun at all for it to shoot micros or megas. Take your coupler and bushings and put them all together to look like this.
Posted Image

Sand out the inside of the coupler to make it fit over the Xxl barrel. Glue it on.
Posted Image

Take your 2' barrel and paperclip. Cut the paperclip to fit on the wall of the PVC. Glue it on. This will keep the dart from falling out of the barrel.
Posted Image

Put the barrel into the reducer bushing and marvel at your handiwork.

Ranges: At least 100'

Although this gun is far from useful, it is fun! The amount of recoil from this weapon and the overall size are awesome.

I like the paper clip idea, usually I just glue a jumbo straw inside 1/2" tubes to prevent the ammo's from falling in.

I'm going to guess the gun is just a bit over 4 feet with the barrel.

I would use around a 14 inch barrel. 2 feet just seems too much.

Very nice mod. blister! The only problem I foresee is using it in a nerf war, and correct me if I'm wrong, but it looks REALY heavy.

Wow very nice. I was actually running to the hardware store tomorrow to get some stuff do this sort of mod and this morning I noticed you had already done it. Hats off to you. I will post my version of it by next week because I have to prep for BCNO. I am also working on minimizing mine so it is actually a wee bit versitile.

Thanks for all the positive comments. To answer some questions:

With the barrel attached, It is nearly 4.5'. Here is a picture for size reference:

Of course noone is going to be using one of these in a war, it is nearly 6 pounds.

Here is a video of it firing, and how you prime it: Aquí

Why don't you load the dart in the back of the barrel? It will increase the range significantly.

My darts slide through Sch 80 PVC, and the paperclip in the back is also there to prevent them from falling.

I came across one of those awhile ago and modded it very similarly. It is the only gun I have seen powered by an extension spring. (a whopping big one as well)

The crank-thing on the top makes it very impractical to use, so I cut the shell off at the black Xxl circle and now I can pull the rod back to cock it like a nitefinder. It's neat because it can be cocked at any length, for more or less power. However, it helps to attach something else to pull it back.

The overall result makes it look like a supersized maxshot. (I removed the second handle, the crank, and the ammo holders) It's much easier to use than the premodded version, although it is still not very war-friendly.

I suggest you try it.

TheVeg, yea, I considered hacking into the shell to make it smaller, but I really liked the overall feel, and wasn't going to use it for wars.

Spectre666: If you use just hotglue to bond the coupler, it is still removeable. The coupler is too fat for the missiles.

I have wanted to get my hands on one of these for ages.
Not a bad first write up.

I would definitely recommend bringing the coupler closer to the plunger chamber.
Using petg instead.

There are so many things I can think of to make that thing be the farthest shooting springer to ever have a write up.

Thanks, Forsaken. The only reason I didn't completey shave out the coupler is because the white powder from the PVC was starting to get into my eyes (forgot goggles), and was pissing me off. I was considering using a better barrel material like PETG, but then the barrel could only be 1 smooth foot, right? Also, there are 2 of these for sale in the Trading forum, 1 in ItallionStallion's thread and another in Poo's
