------------------------------------------
First open up the gun and look at the weird layout that they used.
(This is a picture from the front so you can see the pegs.)
------------------------------------------
Next take out the gun’s turret it’s a little tricky to do but you can get it out with out detaching the internals of the gun. (That way you don’t have to keep track of more screws.
------------------------------------------
Then unscrew the screw in the front of the turret, then GENTLY pry off the turret from the turrets base. Its is glued so take your time and be careful not to brake it. I got it off easily but they probably did a bad job gluing my gun. You will not need the old part that held the darts do what ever you want to with it.
This is what it looks like separated.
------------------------------------------
Remove the pegs using your favorite manner.
------------------------------------------
Next replace the orange cap piece found at the font of the turret. (The piece with the screw in it.) You need this to help keep your CPVC barrels straight. Then start gluing your barrels onto the original turret base.
------------------------------------------
Glue them all on and you get this.
------------------------------------------
Place the turret back in the gun close the case. If you did it right it should now be able to fire any micro dart you wish.
------------------------------------------
Range about 39-42 feet. Its not that great but it is better then the 10 feet I was getting after I just removed the pegs. And hey for 45 cents I think I can live with 40ish feet.

The reason why the stock barrels are so terrible is because the air delivery system utilizes the pegs and not the barrels themselves. A lot of very old nerf guns did this (secret shot in particular). The dart fit snug on top of the peg which delivered the air, rather than fitting snug in a barrel that shoots air. The main problem with this delivery is the short "barrel" length, stretching of stock darts make it lose range, and that it is not stefan compatible.
The CPVC Tek Six looks pretty neat to me. I have never seen one in person--is it much larger than a maverick?

Its not the greatest gun I have ever used. It may shoot about the range of a Mav or a little farther but the Mav is much more comfortable in my opinion. The cocking mec on the Tek is hard to shoot fast.

ANYWAYS, to the point, the tek six isn't as sturdy as the maverick, especially with the complicated and slightly fragile cocking set-up they have. I still think it's worth it to use this gun, however, as long as you aren't too aggressive with it, and if you are, to put some extra work into reinforcing.... everything. I think I'll go buy one again and try this mod. I was always a little bit confused as to how to go about CPVCing it, so thanks!

Your terrible grasp on the english language annoys me. At least I try to use proper punctuation and grammar. How and where do you pry the old barrels off?

Searching would have been a good idea.Has anyone tried this mod on a new Tek-6? I just bought one yesterday, but the orange barrel top part doesn't seem to have anyplace where it is connected to the lower, it just is one piece of plastic on the bottom and the sides.

There are no other write-ups on the Tek-6 with images still intact.

That write-up's for the first-gen Tek-6. This one dEffeminatets the second-gen edition. The THIRD-gen version that's currently (as of 2008) floating around Wal-Marts and Targets (as well as the cosmetically-different but internally identical Air-Zone Tek-6) has the same casing but uses a modified turret design.
The new design consists of a single plastic cast for all six barrels, with the posts individually glued in. (this is in addition to pressure-reducing slits in the barrels)
I found this out the HARD way when I tried this mod, and ended up OBLITERATING the turret. (FYI, I already salvaged the gun by singling it.)
If you want to SUCCESSFULLY mod this turret:
-stuff brass or PETG down the barrels to block the slits, or
-cut off the outer halves of the stock turrets (preserving the turret mechanism) and glue CPVC to the inner halves.
Sorry to necro, but nobody seems to have mentioned Buzzbee's current turret design. It's also shown up in the Tek-10, Twin Tek-10, Thunderbolt, and the Twin Tek-4. Better a necroed post than a plague of wrecked guns.

Although it does look kinda lame :/
True, but that's what repainting is for! I gave mine a kick-ass Steampunk look using Krylon Fusion Hammered Finish Metallics; in Copper, Silver and Black. It looked so good I re-created it on my replacement Tek-6 and prompted me to single the damaged one to save the casing.
