- The picture is too big.
- This post is pretty pointless.
- This post goes along the lines of the kid who fired a shotgun shell out of his Titan and made sharp-pointed darts.
This is an idea that can ruin it for all of us. Grow up, and this statement is aimed at alot of the newer users that have been posting complete shit the past few weeks. I used to be the nice person that would hold his tongue and just watch the madness unfold. I used to be polite and PM the offending person to steer them in the right direction. Now it seems that the more direct approach is needed. Everything as of late has been pissing me and alot of others off. STOP!!!
I miss the days when I could read the forums and not feel my blood pressure rise.

Here at NH we pride ourselves at providing the most accurate ranges and angles, descriptions of darts and weather, and the gun used down to the inch, degree, and letter.Ixius: the darts shoot far
Also, is the LS only minimized, or is there an internal mod?

Myself, I used the same type of cracker, different brand, and an LBB. Point away from other people (as you would with ANY firework), don't just sit there after you've lit the fuse (like you wouldn't with ANY firework) and it's just another manner of 4th of July pyrotechnics. My group of revelers faced more danger from mortar tubes tipping over and roman candle hijinks than from the puny little crackers that I launched far away, high into the air. My worst injury came from sparks from all the fuses I lit.
It makes me wonder if y'all who freak out about firecrackers or non-standard projectiles have ever even lit a firecracker, or fired something other than a Nerf gun, or a projectile other than foam. Is it a "fear of the unknown" thing going on? Even properly abused, firecrackers aren't that dangerous.
I also didn't realize there was a specific "point" to Nerf Modification - what is it? I may have been doing it wrong all these months! Sure, the most common point may be range/ROF modification for more effective use in Nerf Wars, but I wasn't aware that was the only acceptable goal. Here we've got a Nerf gun that looks different than the stock gun, performs different than the stock gun, and shoots different projectiles than the stock gun - sounds like modification to me.
Not everyone who decides to shoot something other than foam is automatically as retarded as the kid who loaded a shotgun shell so it was facing him, then shot it at a rock. People with experience with explosives or potato guns, to give two examples, or who have experience with real firearms, are used to firing non-foamy projectiles - point being it is possible to launch things other than foam, while still being responsible and safe. It might even be fun.

Yi, yi yi, y'all talk about firecrackers like they're honest-to-god sticks of dynamite. If you're going to be setting off fireworks/crackers anyway, this is no more dangerous...

See, that's the difference, buddy.
I don't even know you personally, but if we did meet, I would trust you with whatever I have in my arsenal, including high power airguns (RWS 350 .22 rifle) and firearms (of which I'm finally beginning to re-acquire, with a trusty Ruger 10/22).
With some of these forum newbies, just the fact that they cannot READ simple rules and regulations, and have absolutely no SELF-CONTROL in handling a discussion forum responsibly, make me lose faith in their ability to handle semi-dangerous things (fireworks) responsibly. Likewise, I wouldn't even let some of them LOOK at my weaponry.
The problem I have is that many of the younger, dumber members of NerfHaven will see pictures, try to imitate what they see (put fireworks on their Nerf darts or shoot a Jumping Jack out of their blasters), somehow, some way, blow a finger off or burn mom and dad's house down, then point the blame at "that website". We want to firmly minimize that from happening (remote, but not impossible with a site as popular as NerfHaven).
The activity of the last few weeks makes me think someone decided to crack open a can of "stupid" and pour it all over the internet. We're catching a few drips and runs o'er here.

The point is we don't want to encourage the easily influenced to do something that may hurt themselves or others. Let's say little Billy saw this on NH and tried it out himself. Billy is not a member because of his age, but he can still view the site as a guest. Now Billy sticks a firecracker into his dart and shoots it at his friend, who gets hurt as a result. Billy gets his ass beaten by his father, then the parents of the friend asked why he did it. He then tells them that he saw it here. The owners of NH become legally respponsible for letting this stay on the forums and not denouncing and/or deleting it.Yi, yi yi, y'all talk about firecrackers like they're honest-to-god sticks of dynamite. If you're going to be setting off fireworks/crackers anyway, this is no more dangerous. The little firecrackers pictured would be hard-pressed to truly injure someone.

I understand that modding is about the creativity of the modder, but this is irresponsible behavior that could cause problems for cxwq and his wife. If you have done something similar, good for you. If you still have all 10 of your fingers, that's great. Don't post it here as it is not a part of the sport we called Nerf. No one is going to allow that in a war ever, in fact, they probably will ask you to leave for the fact that you are not thinking properly.
By the way, you can get hurt by any type of explosive device. What if Billy shot his friend and it went high, hitting him in the face? I'm sure that a firecracker to the eye will cause damage.
The point is this, use some common sense and be responsible when posting mods. This post is not responsible. Oh and there is no more need to respond to the poster as he got his 9999 special in a different topic from OMC.
EDIT: Piney beat me to the punch. I had to go and help my mom get things into the house and I hadn't finished typing.

Besides the point of how remotely dangerous this is, you said that this is an example of what NOT to post. You, my not-so-much friend, are a fine example of what a 9999er looks like. Why in the world of fuck would you say this is something you don't post, and post it? Go modify your Nitefinder better and Nerf. Stop trying to figure out ways to get us in trouble. Go blow your NF up or fucking Nerf, pick one of the other, but I would go with the other.
